THE YEAR 2025 WORLD OLDER PERSONS DAY CELEBRATION.

Theme: Older Persons Driving Local and Global Action, Our Aspirations, Our Well-being, Our Right.

The theme re-ecoed the fundamental of appreciating Older Population. It emphasized to seeing them as active contributors to the society and therefore advocatesbfor collective and deliberate policies in promoting their dignity, rights and inclusion as well as fostering inter generational supports.
Secondly, it emphasizes the need to create supportive environments that enable older Perrsons to live independability and participate meaningfully where they lives.

Away from being passive beneficiaries, Older Persons are drivers of Progress, contributing their knowledge and experience in areas such as health, financial Well-being, Community resilience and Human Rights advocacies . The social engagement of the elderly needs to be increase by developing elderly friendly environment.

It's pertinent to state that, estimatedly 30% of the World Population will be elderly by the year 2050. Therefore without strategy, these rapid demographic shifts will post major challenges.

The envisaged strategies my includes:
✓ Setting up Dementia Counseling Centers
✓ Creating Elderly friendly jobs
✓Policies framework focusing on improving mental and physical health, social participation and quality of life.
