Protein shakes, energy drinks, wellness shots ... our relationship with "functional" drinks is already intense on Earth.
Now, researchers are applying that idea to space. They are developing fortified beverages designed for microgravity that deliver nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids during long missions.
Six customizable recipes were developed with different flavors and sweetness levels, resulting in a drink with a texture similar to flat soda.
