Everyday items such as plastic straws, bags, bottles, and food containers may seem small and harmless, but together they make up one of the biggest threats to our environment.

Single-use plastics are designed to be used once and discarded. The problem is that they don’t simply go away. Instead, they break down into microplastics that pollute our soil, contaminate water sources, harm wildlife, and even enter the human food chain.

The good news is that solutions already exist:

- Carry reusable bottles.
- Refuse plastic bags.
- Choose sustainable alternatives like bamboo cutlery or cloth bags.

At Envy-Nature Environmental Sustainability Initiative (ENESI), we believe that everyday choices, multiplied across communities, can make a lasting difference. Reducing single-use plastics is not just an environmental responsibility—it’s an investment in a healthier, more sustainable future.

Rising tides are not just about wet feet at the beach. They’re about: Coastal erosion (losing land bit by bit), homes and roads flooding more often, saltwater creeping into drinking water and farmlands, people being forced to relocate inland....and it’s getting worse.

Visit our website to find out what this means for us and what we can do about it.

Can mangroves protect us from rising sea levels? Discover how these coastal trees help fight climate change and save our shorelines.

There are too many detailed projections of what the Earth would become if nothing is done about the state of our planet, these predictions and warnings can be so overwhelming that it's easier to talk and relegate the much needed action to an alarmingly few percentage of the population.
You can change that by being actively involved and informed. At Envy-Nature Environmental Sustainability Initiative we are passionate about recreating a future that is beneficial for us all; planting a better future, one propagule at a time. Mangroves are nature’s silent defenders. If you are an avid follower, you may be reading this statement for the umpteenth time, but it's true. Found along tropical coastlines, these salt-tolerant forests shield communities from storms, reduce coastal erosion, store vast amounts of carbon, and serve as nurseries for fish and wildlife. Yet, despite their importance, over one-third of the world’s mangroves have been lost in the past 50 years due to urban development, oil spills, pollution, and logging.

In Nigeria’s Niger Delta, where mangroves are essential to both livelihoods and local biodiversity, recent efforts are beginning to reverse the damage. Initiatives like Envy-Nature Environmental Sustainability Initiative (ENESI) have taken root, engaging local communities, planting thousands of seedlings, and raising awareness about restoration.

Still, much remains to be done. For lasting impact, we must expand community participation, strengthen environmental laws, and secure more support from both government and private sectors. The solution is clear: restoring mangroves is one of the most cost-effective ways to fight climate change and protect vulnerable populations.

We cannot afford inaction. Saving mangroves isn’t just about trees, it’s about protecting our future.

The tides whisper the truth: the mangroves are dying. Choked by oil, littered with plastic, and felled by machines. Without the mangroves, the ecosystem has no refuge. Without the mangroves, the fish lose their nurseries, the birds their nests, the people their protection.

This haunting realization is a warning: when we let ecosystems like the mangroves perish, nature fights back in ways we don’t expect.

But it’s not too late.

We’re fighting to bring life back to these mangroves; one root at a time. Join us as we restore mangroves and give nature, and ourselves, a second chance.

Just this year, parts of Nigeria recorded their highest temperatures in decades. Crops wilted, rivers ran low, and entire communities felt the burn. Climate change? It’s no longer a future threat, it’s here, unfolding before our eyes.

But here’s the truth: Climate change is not unbeatable.m, it is not someone else’s problem and we are not powerless.

At Envy-Nature Environmental Sustainability Initiative, we believe in collective action. From mangrove restoration in the Niger Delta to climate education in local schools, we’re building resilient communities and ecosystems that can stand strong and even thrive in the face of a changing climate.

The science is clear: Mangroves store 10x more carbon than tropical forests. Trees cool cities by up to 4°C and we all know that every action counts. Together, we can fix it, one tree, one conversation, one step at a time.
Will you be part of the solution?
