*Report: Raising Awareness on To***co Risk in Ikot Umiang Ede community*

As part of our effort to ensure that people are empowered and live healthy lives, Today 31st May, 2025 The Community Mobilization Officer CMO)organized a community outreach to commemorate World No To***co Day. The event was aimed to raise awareness and educate residents on the health risks associated with to***co and promote a to***co-free lifestyle.

A public health talk was delivered highlighting the risks of to***co use, including lung cancer, heart disease, respiratory problems, premature aging, reproductive issues and other health risks e.g smoking increase risk of developing cataracts, glaucoma etc.

It was an interactive session to engage participants and encourage them to share their experiences and concerns about to***co use.

Participants expressed willingness to quit to***co and support loved ones in quitting. And also agitated that companies producing to***co are the brain behind the health risks.

The event successfully raised awareness about to***co risks in Ikot Umiang Ede community, 28 people were reached (21 male 7 female) empowering residents to make informed choices and improve their overall health.
