*YOFCI Celebrates Women’s Strength and Tenacity on International Women’s Day 2025*

In commemoration of International Women’s Day 2025, Youth for Change Initiative (YOFCI) joins the global community in celebrating the resilience, tenacity, and invaluable contributions of women toward building a better and more inclusive society.

This year’s theme, “ *Accelerate Action* ,” serves as a reminder of the urgent need to advance gender equality, combat gender-based violence (GBV), and empower women and girls economically, socially, and politically. It also highlights the importance of collaborative efforts in breaking systemic barriers that hinder women’s progress.

As an organization committed to gender equality and social justice, YOFCI applauds the Akwa Ibom State Government for always prioritizing women’s empowerment and gender inclusion in governance through the ARISE Agenda.

We also commend the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Lady Helen Obareki, for her dedication to eradicating gender-based violence, promoting women’s leadership, and ensuring access to quality healthcare and education for women and girls. Her unwavering commitment to accelerated action is inspiring and necessary for driving transformative change.

YOFCI remains steadfast in advocating for policies, programs, and initiatives that empower women and girls. We stand ready to collaborate with government agencies, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to accelerate progress toward gender equality and sustainable development.

As we celebrate today, let us all commit to breaking biases, creating opportunities, and amplifying the voices of women in all spheres of society. A more just and equitable world is possible when we invest in and uplift women.
