PHOTO SPEAKS! FARMERS' COOPERATIVE

We’re excited to have extended our work to the Afaha Offiong community in Nsit Ibom LGA, Akwa Ibom State. Today, we inaugurated the farmers’ cooperative and had meaningful conversations with the women. Our plan is to provide ongoing support through agricultural training, access to resources, and initiatives that empower women to lead sustainable livelihoods. Together, we’re building a stronger, more self-sufficient community!

FOOD FOR ALL INITIATIVE-PHOTO SPEAKS

While this photo captures a memorable moment from the past, we’re excited to share that the Food for All Initiative is still going strong! In collaboration with community leaders, we distributed pumpkin seeds and allocated farm spaces to empower local farmers in underserved communities. This project is part of our ongoing mission to combat food insecurity and create a sustainable agricultural value chain in Nigeria.

The initiative focuses on ensuring that healthy food reaches millions of low-income households by supporting local farmers and providing them with the resources they need to grow and thrive. By allocating dedicated spaces for planting, we are not only helping these communities cultivate crops but also building a foundation for long-term food security and prosperity.

We are incredibly proud of the impact this initiative continues to have and grateful for the support of local leaders, Agric-entrepreneurs, and all our partners in this journey toward a food-secure future. Together, we are sowing the seeds of change!

BACK TO SCHOOL CAMPAIGN!

The Giant Strides Foundation team visited Afaha Ediene Community, Ikono, in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.

It's the dream of the organization to help individuals achieve their dreams of a brighter future irrespective of their current community or living conditions with focus on the needy.

Project Brighter Future is an initiative of the foundation to help children in underserved community to achieve their academic and career dreams.

On the 19th of September 2023, the foundation reached out to over 200 Children of Afaha Ediene with exercise books and stationery to help them return to school.

Many of the parents of the children shared their deep appreciation to the foundation and its sponsors for coming to their aid in sending their children back to school. These parents struggle to both feed their children and send them to school. As a result of these, the children either return to school late in the term or sometimes unable to return at all. The intervention was being described as very timely as it has lifted this longstanding burden off their shoulders.

Through the back to school campaign, these children now have equal opportunity to access quality education. Thank you to our dear sponsors for joining to impact the children.

The Giant Strides Foundation team visited Ikot Udo Otto Community to carry out its first charity project tagged "END HUNGER NOW" food drive.
