FUTA STUDENTS UNION

FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY AKURE.
______________________________________________
EXTORTION AND HARASSMENT BY SOME VILLAIN POLICE OFFICERS AROUND THE SCHOOL PREMISES.
______________________________________________

The Students Union Executives administration led by Jesunifemi Asoore TenTen on Wednesday 21st Dec 2022 met with the COMMISSIONER of Police in Ondo State CP Oyediran Adesoye Oyeyemi expressing the displeasure of FUTArians about the state of extortion and harassment by some rogue officers.

We took the first steps in managing and preventing violence by acknowledging the problem and reporting the incidents. This kicks in the illicit of some officers' acts and the students' wariness are becoming rampant.

The issue was well addressed, and the CP encouraged the officers to work simultaneously with the school’s administrative, and disciplinary systems. By complying with this, there will be no “double jeopardy” when both systems are engaged.

He said, Accurately reporting incidents from students who are victims is the first step in developing effective prevention strategies. If school officials accurately report incidents, the documented data can be used for early identification of threats, trends, identification of crime patterns, and to provide related red flags so that the school and safety officials can intervene before a problem becomes entrenched.

We hereby encourage students to stay away from disastrous and dire activities and to stop driving without licenses and those moving around with prohibited substances that could transpire into such litigation within and around the University premises.

Signed;
Jesunifemi Asoore (TenTen)
FUTASU President.
