These pictures capture the special moments when the solar lighting kits were handed over, bringing light, safety, and hope to homes that had been in darkness for over two years. It was inspiring to see the impact these kits are having on families in Ogbe, Igbesa, Ado-Odo Local Government Area, Ogun State, Nigeria, helping children study, do homework, and carry out daily activities safely.

We are delighted to share that about three months ago, through our partnership with Bluetti Africa, they generously donated 20 solar lighting kits to Unique Development Aid Foundation. This donation comes in response to the ongoing unstable electricity supply in many rural communities.

One such community is a rural area in Ogbe, Igbesa, Ado-Odo Local Government Area, Ogun State, Nigeria, which had been in total darkness for over two years after the removal of its only power pole. With no access to electricity, families relied on costly and dangerous alternatives like kerosene lamps and candles. School children struggled to study for exams and complete their homework.

Thanks to this generous donation, we were able to light up homes in Ogbe, allowing children to study and families to carry out daily activities safely.

Recently, some of our team visited the community and saw firsthand how the solar lights are being used by community members who benefited from them. It was inspiring to witness the impact of this initiative in action!

Swipe through the pictures to see some of the beneficiaries making use of the lights to study and manage other household tasks.

A heartfelt thank you to Bluetti Africa for helping bring light and hope to these communities!

Lighting Up Lives: Bringing Solar Power to Rural Igbesa

For over two years, a rural area in Igbesa, Ogun State, Nigeria, endured life in total darkness after the removal of its only power pole. With no access to electricity, families relied on costly and dangerous alternatives like kerosene lamps and candles—making it difficult for children to study, for small businesses to operate, and for daily life to thrive.

This July, solar lighting kits were delivered through Unique Development Aid Foundation to the residents who needed them most. As the lights turned on, so did renewed possibilities—for education, safety, and livelihoods.

“For over two years, we lived in complete darkness. This made daily life and work extremely difficult. With the arrival of the solar lighting kits, we are now hopeful for improved poultry production to benefit our community,” shared Mr. Olajide, a local livestock farmer.

Each solar lamp has brought more than light—it has restored dignity, safety, and opportunity to the people of Igbesa.

Thank you, Bluetti Africa, for empowering lives and illuminating futures.

Happy International Women’s Day 2025!

This year, we celebrate under the theme "Accelerate Action." At Unique Development Aid Foundation, we recognize that empowering women is key to driving meaningful change in communities.

Our recent cassava processing mill project in Umuichi Nkata Ibeku is a powerful step toward economic empowerment for women. By training over 100 women and community members in cassava handling, processing, and business management, we are taking action to create lasting opportunities for women and their families.

💜 Impact at a Glance:
✅ Beneficiary Reach: Over 1,000 cassava farmers and community members directly benefiting.
✅ Increased Processing Capacity: Significant improvement in monthly cassava processing.
✅ Economic Growth: Higher household incomes and better market access for locally processed cassava products.
✅ Gender Impact: Reduced post-harvest losses and challenges for women engaged in cassava processing.
✅ Community Cohesion: Strengthened social ties and resilience through collective management of the processing facility.

Now is the time to ACT! By accelerating action, we can break barriers, uplift women, and build a sustainable, equitable future for all. Let’s continue to champion change together!
