On tuesday, 9th June, ITPD took its first official step into the community we exist to serve.
Our Founder and Executive Director, Mr Ekeoma Onwukwe Samuel, addressed the monthly meeting of JONAPWD Umuahia South chapter, reaching over 30 persons with disabilities with one simple message:
Your vote. Your right. Your power.
With the INEC Continuous Voter Registration exercise ongoing and the July 10, 2026 deadline approaching, we encouraged PWDs to claim their place in Nigeria's democracy.
The conversation sparked important discussions on: π³οΈ Access to voter registration π€ Sign language interpreters at polling units ποΈ Braille accessibility for blind voters βοΈ The legal rights of persons with disabilities in public spaces.
Most importantly, seven persons with disabilities who had not yet registered were immediately referred to the INEC office to begin the process. We will follow up until they have their PVCs
This is what inclusion looks like: informed citizens, accessible systems, and voices that are heard.
To every person with a disability in Abia State and Nigeria in general: Get your PVC.
Your voice matters.
Your vote counts.
π INEC registration is ongoing at your nearest LGA office. β° Deadline: 10th July, 2026
You can also register online.
