The Alex Otti Foundation has concluded the selection for its 2025 edition of Alex Otti Foundation Tertiary Education Scholarship. The Foundation now has over 300 students from different disciplines across universities in Nigeria under its scholarship. These students receive N250,000 every year for their tuition.
This edition is spectacular for the surge we had and the quality of applications we received. It was indeed a very competitive process that involved essay writing, oral interview and verification.
Jude Egbas led the panelists during the interview. He is currently Deputy Editor-in-Chief of TheCable, Nigeriaโs renowned online news platform. Egbas is also Editor-in-Chief of The Social Enterprise Report (TSER) -- a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) publication. Before joining TheCable, Egbas had put in more than a decade of work in helping to shape Nigeriaโs digital media industry. Egbas first worked as a public relations practitioner before delving into online media. Between 2007 and 2015, Egbas worked with TruContact PR, Lakewhyte PR and TruContact CSR. At TruContact CSR, Egbas was involved in documenting the corporate social responsibility initiatives of companies for the annual SERAs AwardsโNigeriaโs foremost and most impactful CSR awards. Egbas edited the CSR Report of TruContact for more than 5 years, in which time he interviewed CEOs and MDs of some of the biggest companies in the land. Thereafter, he plunged headlong into digital journalism, first with EkekeeeDotComโa political blog. Egbas joined Pulse Nigeria in 2016 as News Editor and became Senior Editor before he left the company in 2021 for Quest Times where he was Managing Editor for two years. He has interviewed vice-presidents, federal and state lawmakers, governors and top officials across all tiers of government. Egbas has always enjoyed writing, reading and editing. His world revolves around the power of the written word. He watches plenty of football when he is not putting words together on a laptop.
