A little to June.

One of the highlights of the month was ICIN's participation in the Mission 21 Women's Conference 2026, where women from different sectors came together to discuss "Women's Rights and the Role of Women as Development Actors." Men were also part of the conversation. We Recognize that sustainable gender transformation requires the engagement of both women and men.

The conversations were insightful, the connections were meaningful, and the shared commitment to advancing women's rights was inspiring. We're thankful to have been part of the experience and look forward to continuing the work of empowering women, promoting inclusion, and building stronger communities.

We commenced training of Reusable Menstrual Pad (RUMP) trainers in response to the shortage of skilled trainers in this field. Through this initiative, we are not only strengthening our capacity to expand menstrual health education and reusable pad production, but also equipping women with practical, income-generating skills.
By investing in women, we are creating a ripple effect, one that promotes dignity, improves menstrual health management, and opens doors to sustainable economic opportunities within our communities.

Together, we are building a future where more women can lead, train others, and drive lasting change.

Video highlights from our roundtable dialogue on strengthening the implementation of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Law.

It was an impactful and insightful session. The dialogue also sparked important conversations around existing gaps and challenges, with valuable contributions from stakeholders across security agencies, women affairs institutions, community members, and partner CSOs.with support from Mission 21

Effective advocacy begins with clear, confident, and accurate messaging.

Our coaching session for Menstrual Health Champions under the PSI project focused on strengthening how champions communicate during community sensitization and awareness activities.

Champions were given the opportunity to demonstrate their menstrual health messaging, simulating real-life engagement with community members. Their delivery was assessed based on communication skills, message accuracy, confidence, and audience engagement. The session also created room for constructive feedback, learning, and improvement. By continuously building their capacity, we are ensuring our champions remain equipped to lead meaningful conversations, break harmful stigma, and promote healthier menstrual practices in their communities.

During our recent mentoring sessions with the Women Collective in Wase and Shendam under the PSI project, participants revisited the topic of borrowing and loans as a follow-up to the financial literacy training.

The session provided an opportunity for women to reflect on responsible borrowing practices, understand when taking a loan is necessary, and consider the importance of repayment planning and financial discipline. Through open discussions and practical examples, participants strengthened their knowledge on how to make borrowing decisions that support growth rather than create financial strain.

Empowered with the right knowledge, women are better positioned to build resilience and create sustainable economic opportunities for themselves and their families.

A law is only as powerful as its implementation.

The Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Law was created to protect people from violence, but protection means little when survivors still face barriers to justice, support, and safety.

As part of a joint project by Integrated Community Development Initiatives (ICIN) and Women and Girls Rescue Development Initiative (WGRDI), funded by Mission 21, we convened a roundtable dialogue bringing together security agencies, legal experts, religious and community leaders, and partner organizations to confront difficult but necessary questions:

What is working?
What is failing?
And what must change now?

From enforcement gaps to weak coordination and limited survivor support systems, one thing is undeniablethere there is still much work to do. But change becomes possible when stakeholders move beyond conversations and commit to action.

We remain committed to building systems that protect, respond, and deliver justice for survivors and vulnerable persons. The dialogue may have ended, but the work continues.
