STEWARDSHIP 101

Many people believe that stewardship is just about saving money. But true stewardship is about management. It is the art of taking the resources you have—your time, your talent, and your treasure—and investing them in a way that brings the greatest possible return to society.
In the world of impact, we call this "Social ROI" (Return on Investment). It’s not about how much you keep, but how much change you create with what you’ve been given.

A Story from the PDAC Foundation
At the Pdac Foundation, we take stewardship very seriously. When donors or partners invest in our mission, we don't just see "money"; we see a sacred trust.
For our upcoming school outreach programs, we don't just buy materials and hope for the best. We meticulously plan how every Naira can reach more students. We ask: "Can we use digital tools to scale this message? Can we train student leaders to mentor their peers so the impact lasts longer?" By being good stewards of our initial resources, we turn a single donation into a lifelong change for a child. We manage for impact, not just for activity.
"Stewardship is the act of putting the interests of others above your own." — Anonymous

This Week’s Challenge
Audit your three main resources this week: Time, Talent, and Money. Pick one and ask: "Am I just spending this, or am I investing it?" Choose one way to use that resource this week to create a "Social ROI"—perhaps by mentoring someone or supporting a cause you believe in.

Keep growing,

STEWARDSHIP 101

Hello Family,

No one reaches the top of a mountain without a guide. In the journey of life and leadership, the people you allow into your “inner circle” determine the height of your success. Mentorship is not just about learning skills; it is about gaining a perspective that you do not yet have.
Your “inner circle” should be a collection of wisdom that challenges you to grow beyond your comfort zone.
A Story from the PDAC Foundation

When we began forming the Advisory Board for the Pdac Foundation, I knew we needed more than just “big names.” We needed mentors—people who had walked the path of social impact and organizational leadership before us.
I remember a specific meeting where a board member challenged our outreach strategy. Instead of just agreeing with my vision, they asked the “hard questions” about sustainability and long-term data. That moment of mentorship was uncomfortable, but it was vital. Because I had invited people of wisdom into my inner circle, we were able to refine our school outreach program into something much stronger. A true mentor doesn’t just cheer you on; they sharpen you.
“A mentor is someone who sees more talent and ability within you than you see in yourself, and helps bring it out of you.” — Bob Proctor

This Week’s Challenge

Take a look at your inner circle. Do you have someone who can tell you the truth even when it’s hard to hear? This week, identify one area where you need growth and reach out to a person you admire for a 15-minute “wisdom chat.

Keep growing,
