Easter Break – 4th Saturday & 5th Sunday

This Easter, Niger State takes a bold and timely step toward youth development, social cohesion, and positive engagement through Youth on the Rise — a purpose-driven initiative that combines sports development, leadership training, and capacity building as practical tools for empowerment, in line with the New Niger vision of inclusive growth and shared prosperity.

The programme will feature a highly competitive 3-on-3 basketball tournament with teams representing all Local Government Areas, promoting unity, discipline, inclusion, and peaceful interaction among youths across the state.

Complementing the sporting activities are structured mentorship and capacity-building sessions, alongside prestigious awards recognising individuals and organisations contributing meaningfully to youth empowerment, community development, and sports advancement.

Endorsed as a Niger State project and organised by the Emirate Youth Empowerment Foundation, the event brings together traditional institutions, professionals, sports administrators, coaches, athletes, philanthropists, private sector actors, and public institutions working collectively to engage youths positively and redirect energy toward productivity, leadership, and responsible citizenship—a critical response at a time when communities seek sustainable solutions to social challenges.

The activities and outcomes of the programme will be widely showcased through national and state media platforms, including NTA, FM radio stations, and major social media channels, ensuring strong visibility, accountability, and continued public engagement before, during, and after the event.

Youth on the Rise is more than an event. It is a strategic investment in human capital, unity, and leadership, designed to support a safer, stronger, and more resilient Niger State.
