That was one of the opinions shared by some of the secondary school boys we visited yesterday, and honestly, it perfectly reflected why conversations like these are so important.
Yesterday, the ๐๐๐ ๐ฆ๐๐๐ ๐ฆ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ธ ๐๐ป๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐โก made its next stop at ๐๐๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐๐ข๐ ๐ก ๐๐๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ฅ, ๐๐ฌ๐จ๐ ๐๐จ๐. This outreach took a more interactive approach, creating a safe space for the boys to openly share their opinions, experiences, and perspectives on mental health and the societal expectations placed on men.
One thing that stood out to us was how differently many of the boys understood ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ต๐ข๐ญ ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ๐ต๐ฉ. Some described it as โ๐ข ๐ด๐ต๐ข๐ต๐ฆ ๐ฐ๐ง ๐ฃ๐ณ๐ข๐ช๐ฏ ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฎ๐ข๐จ๐ฆ,โ while others believed it only referred to
๐ฑ๐ฉ๐บ๐ด๐ช๐ค๐ข๐ญ ๐ธ๐ฆ๐ญ๐ญ๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ด๐ด.
It became clear that awareness is still deeply needed!
Through ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐น๐๐ต ๐๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ ๐ฒ๐ป, in collaboration with ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐๐ฎ๐น๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐๐ป๐ฑ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป, we are committed to educating and empowering these young boys by addressing misconceptions, encouraging open conversations, and helping them better understand mental health and emotional well-being ๐ง โจ
Beyond the discussions on mental health, many of the boys also shared their dreams and ambitions. Some hoped to become innovators, creating and inventing new technologies, while others expressed interest in pursuing careers in healthcare and other impactful fields.
The conversations didnโt stop there๐โโ๏ธ
A ๐๐ง๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐๐ฉ๐ฎ ๐๐๐๐ก๐ก๐๐ฃ๐๐ was introduced to encourage the boys to think outside the box, and seeing how actively they participated was genuinely refreshing. Their enthusiasm, confidence, and willingness to contribute made the entire session even more meaningful ๐๐พ
