GREAT NIGERIAN STUDENTS!!๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿฝโ€๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿฝโ€๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿฝโ€๐ŸŽ“

IT'S NOW SKILLFICATES AND CERTIFICATES!!๐Ÿ“ƒ๐Ÿช„

Nigerian students, lecturers, parents, development experts and indeed the general public are excited about this novel transformational policy that we as *Functional Education advocates* have all longed for.

Functional Education is simply the Education curricula and delivery systems whose contents, focus, target and implementation/practise are carefully crafted in anticipation of immediate PRODUCTIVE and PROBLEM SOLVING application- Not hypercramming, Fake it or Forge it, Pass and Forget Certification.

Kodus to our Hon Ministers of Education Dr Tunji Alausa and Prof Suwaiba Ahmed Said for the very successful launch of the EIBIC ๐Ÿ’กProgram. - Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Business Incubation Certification - Friday 27th March 2026 attended by Students, Lecturers, VCs, Education Policy makers, Heads of Parastatals and captains of Industries who committed Billions into the program.

Tertiary institutions now offering dual certification....๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ

"SKILLSFICATES"โš™๏ธ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ๐Ÿช„๐Ÿ’ก
(ME KA IYA, BA ME KA KARANTA BA) alongside regular "CERTIFICATES" ๐Ÿ“ƒ๐Ÿ“ง is a game changer to the Nigerias quest to address labor competancy, labor gaps, youth unemployment, poverty and insecurity.

The Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Business Incubation Certification (EIBIC)๐Ÿ’ก program is MANDATORY entrepreneurship and Business development program introduced for fresh students at tertiary institutions.๐Ÿข
It runs concurrently with students' academic programs across all faculties and forms a structured pathway from ideation to venture creation designed to embed entrepreneurship education directly into the academic experience of students, equipping them with practical skills, innovative thinking, and the mindset required to create sustainable businesses while pursuing their degrees.

The program is aimed to prepare students to launch ventures and generate employment opportunities even before graduation.

Early exposure to the program begins with 100-level students through to 400/500 levels (depending on the course) with orientation lectures, seminars and structured entrepreneurship, mentorship, industry,๐Ÿญ and finance/capital ๐Ÿ’ต๐Ÿ’ธmatching and embedding etc.

Upon completion, students receive an additional ENTREPRENEURSHIP CERTIFICATE (SKILLSFICATE)๐Ÿช„๐Ÿ’ก alongside their regular academic degree, effectively graduating with DUAL CREDENTIALS ๐Ÿช„๐Ÿ“ƒ( The regular Academic CERTIFICATE and a SKILLSFICATE or call it SABIFICATE) that strengthens their employability, labor mobility, entrepreneurial and job creation capacity.

Its all about graduating Job Creators ๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿพโ€๐Ÿ”ง๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿฝโ€๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿพโ€๐Ÿ’ป rather than Job Seekers!๐Ÿ™†๐Ÿฝโ€โ™‚๏ธ

THE IRAN, US-ISRAEL WAR AND NIGERIAS EDUCATION, ENERGY, HEALTH, SECURITY AND ECONOMIC SOVEREIGNTY.

WHY PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY AND MATHEMATICS MATTER.

Dr Balarabe Shehu Kakale.

NAGARTA COLLEGE SOKOTO, SOKOTO STATE. 1990s.

In Physics we were taught:
That a body of mass _M_, moving at a velocity _V_ , will cover a distance _S_ , in time _T_ .
The laws of Motion and Gravity and how there is always an equal and opposite reaction to every action!
Electricity, Magnetism, Light and Optics, Fluid mechanics, Tensile strengths and Elastic limits.

We learnt in Nuclear Physics how the extreme Sun grade heat energy in Nuclear Fission and Fusion reactions can be used peacefully to produce electricity or otherwise to produce destructive military hardware.

In Chemistry we were taught:
Gases, Liquids and Solids.
The Periodic Table and its Halogens, Metals, Transition and Rare Earths, Atoms, Protons, Neutrons, Electrons, Elements and Compounds.
In Thermodynamics, that energy can neither be created nor destroyed but can only be transferred or converted.

That a Volume of Gas _V_ is directly proportional to its temperature _T_ so long as its pressure _P_ remains constant.

In Mathematics we were taught:
Calculus and how to differentiate and integrate integers, Statistics, Ratios, Binaries, Angles, Sines and Cosines, Exponentials, Algebra, Latitudes, Longitudes, Coordinates and Logarithms.

I remember very well these elementary Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics lessons during the glorious days of Nagarta College, Sokoto state. A first generation formal post primary government science college that was revitalised and rebranded as a direct product of a visionary education policy of H.E Gov. Malam Yahaya Abdulkarim administration.

A great salute to all those visionary leaders in his then cabinet, the Sultanate Council, education administrators, managers and our dedicated Principal Alh Sani Muhammad Nahuce and Teachers (Allah ya saka musu da alkhairi. Amin) for promoting and prioritizing Science, Technology and Technical education in the then old Sokoto state - comprising of todays Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states.

That visionary strategy was simple - produce a critical MASS of Sokoto state science education graduates that will go on to read Medicine, Pharmacy, Engineering, Architecture, Mathematics, Pure and Applied Sciences, Agriculture etc in Universities within and outside the country and return home as professionals, researchers, innovators and inventors that will ignite a transformative development revolution in all aspects of human life in Sokoto state and Nigeria at large. Whether those goals have been achieved (30yrs + on) is a subject of another debate.

Yes, the schools were well funded, with world class high education quality assurance, student welfare, safety and security and with the best qualified teachers hired from within Nigeria, Ghana, India, Pakistan, Philippines etc.

And the system worked!!

At least I can remember very well that of the about 120 of us SS3 1992 graduates, only 4 students with 3 credits and 5 Passes were at the lowest end of the Gaussian Distribution, and for the rest .........??
It was Rains and Splashes of "A"s and "B"s in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Agric, Geography etc. The Mean of our SSCE scores was "A", the Median was "A", the Mode was "A" and the Standard Deviation from the Mean was also an "A"!!.
Of course the Degree of Confidence and the 95th Percentile of our SSCE results were all "A"s. "B"s weren't even near!

Almost every graduate of Nagarta College in that set got a University admission except if he declines it by choice - to read Medicine, Pharmacy, Engineering, Agriculture, Pure and Applied Sciences etc, etc.

THE SCIENCE OF THE IRAN US-ISRAEL WAR.

Iranian Missiles and Drones fired at enemy targets do not know the municipal addresses of those targets , they don't even know who or what lives there or how they look like, they donโ€™t know whether they were Jews or Arabs, all they know and understand are MASS, SPEED, GRAVITY, FUEL COMBUSTION, ENERGY CONVERSION AND COORDINATES!
In essence they only know, understand and apply PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY AND MATHEMATICS!

Iran invested heavily in its education system particularly in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and other Sciences for over 4 decades of the illegal crushing economic sanctions imposed on them by the US and its allies.

Using homegrown expertise from their reformed education sysytem, the Iranians ( Population 90Mil) built and expanded their oil and gas/petrochemical infrastructure to achieve sufficiency, they ramped up their electricity generation and distribution infrastructure to 50,000MW to achieve Energy sovereignty. (Compare with Nigeria - Population 225Mil- still struggling with 3,000-4,000MW).

They revitalised their Healthcare and Pharmaceutical industries and systems and achieved Health sufficiency and reversed medical tourism as well as achieved food security through advanced climate resilient Agriculture and Agroallied industrialisation.

Their manufacturing base had remained solid by ensuring that they have Steel mining, processing and production independence ( Nigerias Ajaokuta Steel is still a dream).

They locally own and run Space, Rocket Science and Nuclear facilities for digital/internet, telecom, energy, medical and other industrial researches and development.

These are no mean feats for a country with the same GDP bracket as Nigeria.

The Iranians did this, not only for the ancient Oil and Gas rich Persian nation to achieve Education, Energy, Industrial, Health and Agricultural sovereignty but also to be battle ready and defend themselves from any eventual unprovoked aggression by the war hungry American military behemoth and its parasitic Israeli interloper.

And sure as the sun rises every day... The day of the criminal aggressions and unprovoked attacks in the middle of negotiations, came from the usual suspects - US and Israel.

Iran was alone with virtually no other country on its side against these self acclaimed invincible superpowers whose combined military budgets alone is about triple the entire Iranian national GDP of about $400Bn!

But Iran stood proud with pride to defend itself against all odds using strategy and tactics of asymmetry built on the foundations and principles of their sovereign education system; Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics!
They were meant to be wiped out and brought to their knees by their enemies in days.

But nah!!

The US is now begging for a dignified exit from the unsolicited war they illegally started!!

The courage and bravery of Iran in this war will be a subject of study by Education scholars/researchers, Education policy makers and Managers, Military and War Historians and Researchers, Students and even Aliens for centuries to come.

*LESSONS FOR NIGERIA ; THE CRISES OF OUR EDUCATION SYSTEMS.
For far too long, we have kept our educational systems designed by the colonialists, an indoctrination that does not serve our present nor our future.

A system of education that has failed to provide solutions to our Health, Agricultural, Security, Energy and Economic problems.

The colonial systems have raised generations of Africans through corrupted curricular, that do not speak to our spirits, souls, needs or our ambitions but indoctrinate resource extraction, consumerism, unproductivity and mental slavery.
It was deliberate because its primarily aimed at โ€˜โ€™educatingโ€™โ€™ a person away from and without his/her community.
The more he or she is โ€˜โ€™western educatedโ€™โ€™, the less he/she is identified with the indigenous community, their souls, their needs, their ambitions, welfare safety and security.

The colonized has to learn the language of the colonizers, their history, their laws, their food, their fashion and manners of the colonialists who were the importers of the system and its operation.
The colonizers believed that the colonized had no language, no history, no laws, no tradition and no systems of governance. This had led to the crises of systemic redundancy, poverty and economic degeneration in our communities drifting our youths - our greatest Assets โ€“ into the shackles of โ€™โ€™Fake it or Forge it certificates, Pass and Forget Degrees with No Job, No Hope and No Dignityโ€™โ€™ while the false promises of easy money, political quick fixes, extremist ideologies and poverty become fixed on their gaze.

We must therefore decolonize our educational theories, policies, curricula, identity, funding, access, content, pedagogy, sociology and psychology.

An uneducated mind is a vulnerable mind, but a miseducated mind is a tragedy.

THE NEED FOR EDUCATION RENEWAL IN NIGERIA.
We must reinvent our education systems from a colonial relic of exploitation into a system focused on our needs and interests for the future.
We must graduate critical thinkers, pioneers and masters in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Quantum Mechanics, AI, Machine Learning and Neuroscience.
We must produce new architects of advanced Healthcare systems, Genetics, Stem cell Biology, Digital and Space Communications, Blockchain and CryptoCurrency, High Speed Internet, Cloud Computing, Super Computers, Robotics, Space and Ocean Science and Technology.

One of the key pillars of China's emergence as a global superpower and an unstoppable dominant power is control of its education and the critical mass of its education focus.

Let us build an education system that serves our Energy Sovereignty, Health Sovereignty, Agricultural and Food Sovereignty, Security Sovereignty, Digital Technology Sovereignty and Economic Infrastructure Sovereignty.

God Bless Nagarta College.
God Bless Sokoto State.
God Bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Congratulations to all of you, to your parents, family, teachers and Sokoto state.

Pharmacy is one of the most sophisticated professions of medical sciences. With its vast ubiquitous presence in Communities, Hospitals, Laboratories, Industries, Businesses, Governance, Technology, Food, Herbal, Agriculture, Oil and Gas, Research, Academia etc, etc.

Actually, PHARMACISTS are usually the most labour-mobile, financially secured and productively flexible of all their peers in the Medical profession - Doctors, Nurses, Laboratory Scientists etc.

Have always admired their massive Faculty Complex and still nostalgic of their iconic Mortar and Pestle emblem and the refreshingly highfalutin tranquilizing Clinical Pharmacological, Pharmacognostic, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamic and Bioavailability of analgesics, antibiotics, antihypertensives, active ingredients, excipients, compounding, formulating, Clinical trialing and sometimes *hypnotising* stuff and confidence during our student days in the great ABU, Zaria.

They were sharp and smart young men and women Pharmacy undergraduates from Sakkwato and all over Nigeria and indeed from foreign countries far and near.

Definitely, am gonna be a PHARMACIST when next I have the opportunity to read medical sciences.

Salute to our pioneering and contemporary Sokoto PHARMACISTS from whom I had learnt alot.

I REMAIN LOYAL!!

Once again congratulations Pharm-D. Usman Abdulhakam and all your colleagues on this great milestone.

And for those of you who want to hone your skills in Community and Indigenous Pharmacy practices, pls grab a copy of MASA LIHUL INSAHN of Sheikh Abdullahi Bn Fodiyo and UJALATUR RAKIBI FIDDIBIS SA'IBI of Sultan Muhammadu Bello. Highly valuable books on principles and practise of Medicine and Pharmacy by these great scholars of Sokoto Caliphate.

The world of opportunities in Pharmacy and Medical sciences ecosystems are yours now to explore and excel.

SOKOTO CALIPHATE: A PLASMA OF IDEAS AND SCHOLARSHIP

Written By :Hon.Shehu Balarabe Kakale

The Sokoto Caliphate is a PLASMA of ideas built on Knowledge, propelled by Knowledge and sustained by Knowledge.
This Plasma of ideas founded by the great and revered 19th century scholar Shehu Usman Dan Fodiyo has a universal DNA of humanity that is in all of us.

Like the intergalactic Plasma of the Cosmos, Sokoto Caliphate is an inextinguishable and indestructible order of positive and developmental ideas of humanity that is eternal!!

Some naysayers think of Sokoto Caliphate as a limited physical or bounded geographical entity that you can make hostile declarations on, abolish or destroy: They are wrong!
Sokoto Caliphate is a movement , an idea and a philosophy built by intellectual giants based on self-sustaining, self-regenerating and self-renewing principles of Intellectualism, Scholarship, Peace, Justice, Inclusion, Moral rectitude, Human Dignity and Cooperation.

One ignorant and morally bankrupt Dr Kenon was making noise on an empty street in the US, with Mike Arnold, Rep Riley Moore, Senator Ted Cruz and their Biafraud co-travellers who are just miserably failed and failing politicians looking for relevance and empowered by Trumps disillusioned racist America, desperately looking for legitimacy from their racist religiously bigoted Republican base in the US.
And their bait ? "Nigeria and its Religious faultlines."
They lack the understanding of our ideals, history and current realities of Nigeria as a Nation.

After all, Mai Girma Saudaukin Daular Usmaniyya Mal Lawal Muhammad Mai Doki and NACOMYO at 12th Sheikh Usmanu Bn Fodiyo Week 2025 were right and unambiguously clear, as we have all done, to strongly condemn the insinuations and antics of some American hate mongers and the threat of President Trump to invade, attack and instigate instability in Nigeria using false Christian Genocide claims just as they are doing with the same baseless and false claims of White Afrikaanas Genocide in South Africa.

It's high time, Usman Danfodiyo University Sokoto, Abdullahi Fodiyo University of Science and Technology Kebbi, the Sokoto state government, Sokoto state House of Assembly, the Federal government and the National Assembly condemned and issued appropriate Rebuttals, Sanctions and Resolutions on these enemies of Nigeria and their local collaborators.

Sokoto Caliphate is a PLASMA of IDEAS and SCHOLARSHIP and not a physical territorial institution or corporate governance structure as the British met it 120 years ago.
The physical territories may be defunct now since the British Colonial invasion and takeover in 1903, but the great PLASMA of Ideas of Sokoto Caliphate is eternal and will never extinguish!!.
The Sokoto Caliphate Plasma is just about 200 years old, and I can assure you, it will still be around for the next 1000 years.

For the avoidance of doubt of our intellectualism and scholarship, here are some few of the hundreds of Books and Literature written by leaders of the blessed 19th Century Sokoto Caliphate on LEADERSHIP, GOVERNANCE, JUSTICE, PEACE, SCIENCE,TECHNOLOGY, MEDICINE, ECONOMICS, ASTRONOMY AND MORE.

1. IHYA'U AS SUNNA WA IKHMADUL BID'A.
2. TANZYIN WARAQAT.
3. MASAILUL MUHIMMA.
4. INFAKUL MAISUR.
5. MAUDU'AN AHIBBA'I.
6.TANBIHIL SAHIBI ALA AHKAMIL MUKASIB.
7. BAYAN WAJUBUL HIJRA
8. USULUL ADAL.
9. DIYAUL HUKKAM.
10. LUBABUL MADKHAL.
11. NANA ASMAU BINT SHEHU USMAN FODIYO BOOKS AND POEMS.
12. ANNASAIHU FI AHAMMIL MASALIHI.
13. UJULATIL RAKIBI FIDDIBI SAIB.
14. AMRILIL KULYATI WA ILAJIHA
15. NUSHUN KAFIN LIL AMRAD SHAFIIN.etc , etc.

Some might ask: What is the translation of these Arabic titled books?
Now, here is the Sokoto Caliphate scholastic challenge -
Research them yourself and be blessed.

We want to sincerely thank H.E Mr President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his two hard working Ministers of Education Dr Tunji Alausa CON and Prof Suwaiba Ahmed as well as the ES of the National Commission for Almajiri and OOSC Education Dr Muhd Sani Idris for this great Milestone in the development of and ensuring Inclusivity, Learner-Centeredness, Dignity, Equity, Accountability, Justice and Patriotism in our education ecosystems.

To the wonderful 9th Assembly members, these vulnerable and marginalised children can never thank you enough for your legislative dynamism, foresight and citizens responsiveness in passing the precursor Almajiri and OOSC Education Bill into an Act in 2023.
Once again, thank you Mr Speaker Rt Hon Femi Gbajabimiala, Dep. Speaker, Rt Hon Idris Wase, Chair House Committee on Education Prof Julius Ihonvbere, Chair Rules and Business Rt Hon Abubakar Fulata, their Clerks and Secretariats and our indefatigable Mama, Gimbiyar Dukku and Sarauniyar๐Ÿซ…๐Ÿพ Tsangayu Da Makarantun Allon Hausa Rt Hon Aisha Jibril DukkuโœŠ๐ŸพโœŠ๐ŸพโœŠ๐Ÿพ and of course all Basic education Committee members and indeed all members of the 9th House Representatives ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸฝโœŠ๐Ÿพ.

FGN had done its part in the reforms and mainstreaming of the Almajiri system of education and OOSC educational reforms- The Ball is now squarely in the States and LGA Courts!!
DOMESTICATION AND ADEQUATE BUDGETRY FUNDING OF THE ACT AND POLICY particularly in the North are key to successful IMPLEMENTATION of the reforms.

NO MORE EXCUSES!!

States, Parents, communities, and all stakeholders particularly in the North MUST be held responsible and accountable in implementing these reforms which were primary their responsibility.
We must call out State governments and indeed all stakeholders in the NORTH to rise to their undeniable responsibilities.

We MUST NOT, CAN NOT AND SHOULD NOT ALLOW CHILDREN TO ROAM OUR STREETS AND BEGGING FOR FOOD INSTEAD OF BEING IN SCHOOL OR LEARNING CENTERS AND MAKARANTUN ALLO with the dignity, respect and protection they rightfully and inalienably deserve!!!
