INVITATION TO COMMUNITY OUTREACH ON GBV.

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to join us for a Community Outreach and Stakeholders’ Engagement on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Response to be conducted by Caliphate Community Support Initiative, Sokoto supported by NEPWHAN ( RSSH-C19 PROJECT)

This outreach is designed to strengthen collaboration, improve response mechanisms, and collectively address GBV within our communities.

Your participation and input will be vital to the success of this initiative.

JUSTICE FOR RAFI'S FAMILY IN BODINGA LOCAL GOVT,SOKOTO STATE......!!

This is not just a story, but it’s a cry for justice.

Three young men from one family, Muazu Malam Shehu, Faruku Malam Shehu, and Malami Malam Shehu are now lying in hospital beds, their legs shattered by bullets.

Their only “crime”? Standing up to protect their 80-year-old father from unlawful arrest and humiliation.

Location: Rafi Town, Bodinga LGA, Sokoto State

Date of incident: Thursday evening, 7th August, 2025.

It began when a security operative named Sama’ila came looking for their younger brother. Not finding him, he tried to take their father, Malam Shehu Bangi, a respected Islamic scholar as a substitute.

When the elderly man pleaded for time until his son returned from the farm, the officer refused and began insulting him.

His sons stepped in to defend their father’s dignity. The officer left… and returned with armed colleagues.

They stormed the house and opened fire. Bullets tore through the legs of all three brothers. One was even grazed on the head.

Now, they are fighting for their lives at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital (UDUTH).

Their father has been taken to a safe location to protect him from further harm.

This is brutality. This is lawlessness. This is injustice.

We demand:

1.An immediate investigation.

2. Prosecution of all officers involved.

3. Justice for the victims and their family.

WE CALL ON:

a. Sokoto State Government

b. The National Human Rights Commission, Sokoto.

c. Religious Leaders.

d. Concerned Citizens.

…to raise your voices and ensure justice for these Vulnerable Citizens.

THIS ACTION TAKEN AGAINST THESE YOUNG WOMEN IS AN ACT OF INJUSTICE.......!!

There is no doubt that these young women have been subjected to unjust treatment, simply because they are vulnerable and come from underprivileged backgrounds.*

This constitutes a clear violation of their dignity and fundamental human rights.

It is highly inappropriate for individuals who claim to be leaders to subject these young women to such humiliation, particularly when they have no legal authority to do so, as they are not a court of law.

It is unacceptable that these individuals not only detained the girls, but also insulted them and their parents, recorded videos of them, and circulated these videos on social media.

Such actions amount to abuse and are in direct violation of national and international laws protecting the rights of women and children.

We hereby call on the relevant authorities and human rights organizations to thoroughly investigate this injustice and ensure that these young women receive the justice they deserve.....

Duk da cewa Kundin Tsarin Mulkin kasar Najeriya na shekarar 1999 ( Constitution ) ya bawa kowa Yancin fadin Albarkacin bakin shi, hakan ba zai iya hana k**a Mutum a hukuntashi ba akan wani laifi da ya aikata a yayin fadin Albarkacin bakinshi.

Akwai Laifuka Dayawa da ake aikatawa a Kafafen sadarwar ta internet batare da masu aikata Laifin sun San laifi ne suke aikatawa ba.

Daga Cikin laifukan da akafi aikatawa sun hada da Laifin Barazana ko Tsoratarwa ( Intimidation ) da Laifin Bata Suna ( Defamation of Character ) da Laifin Yada Labarin Karya ( False Information ) da Laifin Tunzara Jama'a ( Incitement ) da dai sauran su.

Dukkan Wadannan Laifuka, laifuka ne da s**a sabawa Kundin aikata Laifuka ( Panel Code ) wanda idan Kotu ta sami Mutum da aikata kowane daga Cikin su, to zata iya Daure shi a gidan Kaso ko tayi mai Tara kota hademai duka, wani Lokacin hadda hukuncin biyan Diyya.

Akwai bukatar Kungiyoyin Matasa su rika hada kai da Jami'an Tsaro da Kungiyoyin Lauyoyi domin shirya Tarukan Wayarda kan Matasa akan yadda za'a kaucewa aikata laifi a Social Media.

Wadannan laifuka da na ambata a sama, Laifuka ne da Jami'an Tsaro na farin kaya wato DSS, ko Yansanda zasu iya gayyatar ko k**a Mutum domin yin binchike Wanda hakan zai iya kai ga gurfanar dashi agaban Kotu.

Wadanda s**afi aikata Laifuka a Social Media, sun hada da Malaman Addini na Musulunci dana Kirista masu zazzafar Adawa musamman ta Akida, sunfi yawan aika Laifukan Musamman masu amfani da kafafen Internet. Sai kuma masu yawan rubutu akan Matsalar Tsaro batare da cikancen Ilmi akan Sha'anin Tsaron ba. Sai kuma Yansiyasa da Yaran su dake rubuce-rubuce a Social Media.

Ita kanta Gwabnati, da su Hukumomin Tsaro, yak**ata su rika shirya Taruka akai-akai na Wayarda kan Matasa da Malaman Addini domin jawo hankalin su akan Laifukan da make iya aikatawa a yayin Maganganu ko Rubuce-rubuce a Social Media.
