SOKOTO ACReSAL CONCLUDES A -TWO DAY TRAINING ON FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT FOR CRFMC's, CBA's AND CIG's IN WURNO-LUGU CATCHMENT AREA.

The Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) has concluded a- two day Training on Preparation and Reconciliation of Financial Records and Bank Accounts for Community Revolving Fund Management Commitee (CRFMC's), Community Business Agents (CBA's) and Community Interest Group (CIG's) in Wurno-Lugu Catchment Area today.

Speaking during the closing ceremony of the training, the Project Co-ordinator Ibrahim Umaru who spoke through Monitoring and Evaluation Officer of the Project Abdullahi Musa Dikko said the training is aimed at educating participants on how to manage the CRF effectively and efficiently.

He said, this was with a view to achieving the desired results of boosting their agricultural, business and livelihoods activities thereby improving their economy and that of Wurno local Government Area.

Commenting, the CRF Desk Officer Sokoto ACReSAL Abubakar Dan Abdu who chaired the training session throughout the period, explained extensively on the practical aspects of the CRF financial activities for effective implementation of CRF activity in the Catchment area.

Abubakar Dan Abdu also emphasized on how to use CRF Bank Accounts effectively and efficiently.

The closing ceremony featured questions, observations and recommendations by the participants.

The Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) has organized a- two day Training on Preparation and Reconciliation of Financial Records and Bank Accounts for Community Revolving Fund Management Commitee (CRFMC's), Community Business Agents (CBA's) and Community Interest Group (CIG's) in Wurno-Lugu Catchment Area today.

BENEFICIARIES OF ACReSAL CRF LOAN IN WURNO LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA CALLS UPON TO INTENSIFY REPAYMENT EXERCISE

Beneficiaries of ACReSAL Community Revolving Fund (CRF) in Wurno local Government Area have been called upon to intensify efforts towards repayment of the loan.

Leader of the delegation from Federal Project Management Unit (FPMU) Alhaji Musa Garba Gusau made the plea while engaging with the beneficiaries.

The engagement exercise was held in the conference room of Wurno local Government Council, the headquarters of Wurno local Government Area.

Alhaji Musa Garba Gusau who is also the Natural Resource Specialist and CRF Desk Officer at the FPMU said this is necessary in order to allow others to benefit with the loan.

According to him, already the period of repayment the loan is over, hence the need for them to intensify efforts in that direction in order to achieve the desired results.

Alhaji Musa Garba Gusau, noted that, statistics shows that, the CRF repayment exercise in the area is recording tremendous successes, but there's the need for beneficiaries to redouble efforts in that aspects.

He highlighted various benefits of CRF towards repositioning both economic and agricultural activities of the state .

He explained that, they were in Sokoto for Credit Inspection Mission and hear from the beneficiaries on achievements, challenges and way forward as well as monitor the overall CRF pilot implementation in Sokoto State.

The leader of the delegation to this end, commended the leadership of Sokoto ACReSAL especially the CRF Core Group for their job well done and urged them to keep it up.

Other speakers during the engagement exercise included, Executive Assistant to National Project Coordinator NPC Christiana Omesobi, Sani Aliyu Abba from Federal Ministry of Agriculture, representative of the State Project Coordinator Abdullahi Musa Dikko and State CRF Desk Officer Dan Abdu Abubakar, representative of NGOs Doctor Hamza and other CRF Core Team as well as some beneficiaries.

SOKOTO ACReSAL IS SAID TO BE AHEAD OF THE MOST ACReSAL PARTICIPATING STATES ACROSS THE FEDERATION IN TERMS OF CRF IMPLEMENTATION.

The Sokoto Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes( ACReSAL) is said to be ahead of the most ACReSAL participating States in terms of ACReSAL Community Revolving Fund (CRF) implementation in across the Federation.

Leader of the delegation from Federal Project Management Unit (FPMU) who is also the Natural Resource Management Specialist, Musa Garba Gusau made the commendation today shortly after a meeting with officials of the Sokoto ACReSAL Project.

Alhaji Musa Garba who is also the CRF desk officer at the FPMU said, this was in consideration of the tremendous successes recorded by the project in terms of disbursement and recovery exercise.

Alhaji Musa Garba explained that, this may not be unconnected with the support being enjoyed by the Sokoto ACReSAL Core Group from the management of the Project in that direction.

The leader of the delegation noted that, they were in Sokoto ACReSAL for Credit Inspection Mission to assess the mode of the disbursement, successes, challenges and recommended the way forward.

According to him, the delegation will also intends to engage with the CRF beneficiaries across all the fifteen CRF Communities in Wurno Catchment Area to hear directly from them on challenges, repayment and overall implementation of CRF activities.

Alhaji Musa Garba Gusau to this end, commended Sokoto ACReSAL especially the CRF Core Group for attaining the results.

Speaking, the State ACReSAL Project Co-ordinator, Ibrahim Umaru thanked the delegation for visiting Sokoto ACReSAL and assured of full support and cooperation through out their stay in Sokoto in order to achieve success in their mission in Sokoto State.

Earlier, the Sokoto ACReSAL desk officer, who's also the Natural Resource Officer of the Project, Dan Abdu Abubakar presented on the overall implementation of CRF in Sokoto State successes and challenges.

Dan Abdu Abubakar added that, the Project has successfully disbursed about five hundred and seventy million Naira (570,000,0000 ) to fifteen CRF Communities in two Catchment and recovered three hundred and ninety four million ,nine hundred and eighty one thousand and six hundred and fifty four kobo, representing sixty nine point thirty percent of the total amount.

He explained that, currently about forty four new Communities have been identified for the second disbursement exercise.

Other speakers among the delegation included, Sani Aliyu Abba from Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Executive Assistant to the National Project Coordinator Christiana Omosebi among others.

The meeting featured questions, observations, and recommendations from the participants.
