Community Based and Support Programme, Catholic Diocese of Shendam Due the HIV/AIDS ravaging scourge and a high level of stigma and discrimination, CBCS introduced an arm to respond to challenges of the impact of HIV/AIDS.

VISION
To remain committed to administering the medicine of love to all infected and affected with HIV/AIDS

GOAL
To work extensively through the parish communities of Shendam Diocese, reaching persons infected and affected by HIV/AIDS with qualitative palliative care and support. Thereby curtailing and bringing to the beeriest minimum the impact of HIV/AID on the individuals, families and communi

ties. VALUE

• To enhance the capacity of parish communities to mitigate the impact of HIV/AIDS pandemic within the Diocese of Shendam.
• To create a more acceptable and supportive environment for PLHIV and their Families.
• To provide effective community /Home based care and Support services to PLHIV and other form of psychosocial, health and material support.
• To prevent and control further spread of HIV.
• To also provide care and support to children Orphaned or made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS as well as strengthening their livelihood opportunities.
• Offer people the privilege of knowing their HIV status through free community confidential counseling and testing.
