AN OPEN APPEAL FOR URGENT IMPROVEMENT OF TELECOMMUNICATION SERVICES IN SAKI
The Nurudeen Adewale Youth Empowerment Initiative (NAYEI) wishes to express deep concern over the persistent and worsening state of telecommunication services in Saki and its surrounding communities.
For many years, residents of Saki have endured poor network coverage, unstable internet connectivity, frequent call disruptions, and extremely slow data services across major telecommunications providers, including MTN, Airtel, and Glo. Unfortunately, what was once considered an occasional inconvenience has now become a daily challenge affecting thousands of people across the community.
Students are among the most affected. In an era where education increasingly relies on digital resources, online research, virtual learning platforms, and internet-based communication, many students in Saki struggle to access the opportunities available to their counterparts in other cities. The inability to maintain stable internet connections places our students at a disadvantage and limits their academic potential.
The impact extends beyond education. Business owners, entrepreneurs, artisans, and professionals who depend on telecommunications services for transactions, customer engagement, marketing, and digital operations face significant setbacks due to poor network performance. Many economic opportunities are lost because reliable connectivity, which is a basic requirement for modern commerce, remains unavailable or inconsistent.
Furthermore, effective communication is essential for security, emergency response, healthcare access, and social interaction. The inability of residents to consistently make calls, send messages, or access internet services when needed creates unnecessary challenges and risks that should not exist in a developing community.
It is particularly concerning that Saki, a prominent and rapidly growing city with immense economic and human potential, continues to face these challenges despite the significant advancements in telecommunications technology across Nigeria. Our community deserves the same level of service enjoyed in many other urban and semi-urban areas of the country.
We therefore call on all relevant stakeholders, including telecommunication service providers, regulatory authorities, government agencies, elected representatives, and community leaders, to urgently investigate and address the network challenges affecting Saki. We strongly advocate for investments in telecommunications infrastructure, network upgrades, improved coverage, and sustainable solutions that will guarantee reliable communication services for all residents.
The development of any society in the 21st century is closely tied to access to quality communication and internet services. Saki cannot be left behind.
Reliable telecommunications services are not a luxury; they are a necessity for education, economic growth, innovation, security, and community development.
The people of Saki deserve better, and the time for action is now.

NAYEI WATER INITIATIVE
As part of our ongoing water outreach initiative, we have been able to extend support to several communities, including Iyaa, Ogidigbo, Isale Taba, Asunara, Ile Nla, Isia, and Ayekale. Through this effort, water and containers were distributed directly to women and households in these areas to help ease the daily challenge of accessing water.
This initiative was designed as a simple but meaningful intervention to support families at the community level, particularly women who often bear the responsibility of securing water for their households. Seeing the smiles, appreciation, and relief from residents across these communities has been truly encouraging.
As we move closer to completing this phase of the project, with only a few areas left to reach, we remain grateful for the opportunity to serve and give back to the community. Initiatives like this continue to remind us that even small acts of service can create real and lasting impact.
We look forward to concluding this outreach and continuing to find more ways to support and uplift our communities.

As the dry season sets in and water becomes increasingly scarce, NAYEI Foundation has once again stepped forward to support the people of Saki City through its ongoing Water Project Initiative.
This year’s water distribution officially kicked off at (Oke Oro) area, reaffirming NAYEI’s strong commitment to ensuring access to clean and safe water for communities facing water shortages. This is not the first time NAYEI is undertaking this initiative; rather, it is a continuation of a mission deeply rooted in service, compassion, and community empowerment.
The water project will be extended to the following areas: Kinnikinni, Sangote, Ogidigbo, Isale-Adinni, Arafat Area, Booda, Isale-Ola, Kooko, Oke-Oro Phase 1, Oke-Oro Phase 2, Isale Efi, Isale-Taba, Asunara, Kube, Ajegunle, Sango, Mokola, Baale Iya’s Compound, and Honest Clinic Area (Mokola).
This is more than a foundation; it is a package of impact.

Together, we can make water accessible. đź’§

Nurudeen Adewale Youth Empowerment Initiative sincerely appreciate the President of the Saki Youth Organisation (SYO), Mr. Oladejo Kazeem, for his timely intervention and strong support during the Nurudeen Adewale Youth Empowerment Initiative (NAYEI) program held last year December at the Saki City Hall. This program was purely community driven and focused on empowering youths and contributing to the development and progress of the City.
On the eve of the program, an unexpected issue arose when we were informed that we could not use the hall without payment, despite earlier assurances by Saki Parapo through Mr. Oladejo Kazeem, that no fee was required because the program was for community development. To avoid disruption and ensure the success of the already planned program, payment was made so the event could proceed smoothly. However, such development focused initiatives should not be subjected to financial barriers, as they are designed solely to promote and uplift the city.
We are deeply grateful to Mr. Oladejo Kazeem for standing up for NAYEI and for the principle that community development efforts deserve support, not obstacles. His intervention and determination ensured that the money paid was fully refunded to NAYEI. This act reflects true leadership, advocacy, and commitment to the progress of Saki City. We truly appreciate your support and dedication.
