COURTESY VISIT TO THE HONOURABLE COMMISSIONER FOR EDUCATION, RIVERS STATE.ON TUESDAY 21ST JULY,2026

A delegation from the Mathematical Association of Nigeria (MAN), Rivers State Chapter (RiversMAN), paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Rivers State, Dr. Peters Nwagor, to formally congratulate him on his well-deserved appointment.

During the visit, the delegation expressed its heartfelt congratulations and wished the Honourable Commissioner a successful and impactful tenure in office. The team also shared the Association's vision and passion for partnering with the Rivers State Government to advance Mathematics education through teacher development, student Olympiads, academic competitions, research, and other educational initiatives that will benefit learners across the state and beyond.

The Honourable Commissioner warmly received the delegation, appreciated the Association's contributions to the development of Mathematics education, and expressed his willingness to foster a cordial working relationship with the Mathematical Association of Nigeria in pursuit of educational excellence in Rivers State.

COURTESY VISIT TO THE DEPUTY RECTOR (ACADEMICS), CAPTAIN ELECHI AMADI POLYTECHNIC, PORT HARCOURT

The Executive Members of the Rivers State Chapter of the Mathematical Association of Nigeria (RiversMAN), led by the State Chairman, Mr. Okezie Ogbonna, and the Vice Chairman, Dr. Collins Adim Meninwa, accompanied by the Association's elder statesman, Sir Amadi Ambrose, paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy Rector (Academics), Chief Dr. Eleki Alapuye (FMAN), of Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Rumuola, Port Harcourt, on Tuesday, 2nd June 2026.

The visit provided an opportunity for meaningful discussions on matters of mutual interest, particularly in the areas of mathematics education, professional collaboration, and the advancement of academic excellence within Rivers State. The RiversMAN delegation expressed appreciation for the Deputy Rector's continued contributions to the development of mathematics education and his support for the activities of the Association.

The meeting was cordial and fruitful, further strengthening the existing relationship between RiversMAN and Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to promoting quality mathematics education and fostering collaborative initiatives that will benefit students, educators, and the wider academic community.

Update on Membership Dues, Conference Participation & Publication Opportunities

The following dues have been approved for RiversMAN members:

1. Annual Dues – Limited Time Discount

There is a 20% discount on annual dues. Members are to pay ₦8,000*l instead of the usual ₦10,000. This promo runs until 31st May 2026 after which the dues revert to ₦10,000. We encourage you to take advantage of this offer.

2. MAN Constitution

Each member is to pay compulsory ₦1,000 for a copy of MAN's constitution.

3. New Membership Registration
New members are warmly welcome.
Registration fee is ₦13,000 covering: Annual dues, MAN constitution and Registration form.

NOTE: Payment Summary
(a) Old members ₦9,000 (b) New members ₦13,000

4. National Annual Conference – Oshogbo 2026

Registration is now open for the upcoming national conference in Osun State.

Early Registration: ₦30,000 (Only for members who have cleared their state dues).

Late/Proxy Registration: ₦40,000.

Further information on logistics for those attending physically will be communicated in due course.

5. Call for Papers – MAN Journal Publication

Scholars who wish to present and publish their papers in the MAN Journals are encouraged to submit their manuscripts to the National body before the conference. This is a valuable opportunity to contribute to the body of mathematical knowledge and gain professional visibility. Submission of articles for presentation ends on or before 17th August, 2026. Kindly check the flyer for further details.
