Theme "Autism and Humanity - Every Life Has value"

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder found in an individual.
There are indicators that Autism spectrum disorder are on the rise.
Some professionals attributes this to medical or genetic conditions, spiritual or environmental factors.
Autism is a life long condition.
However, Autistic children can be managed by experts to live an independent, productive and fulfilled life.
Therefore, autism children deserve equal rights and unconditional worth beyond limitations.

RCCE Milestones in Rivers State! 🎉
The official inauguration of the Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) Team took place on 4th February 2020, with MDAs, implementing partners, WHO, NCDC, CSOs, NGOs, and key stakeholders present. 🌍✨
Special guests included:
* Hon. Paulinus Nsirim – Commissioner for Information
* Dr. Agirye M. Harry – Permanent Secretary (PHCMB)
* Dr. Guy Marie M. Yogo – UNICEF Chief, Rivers Field Office

Later in 2020, the Risk Communication Club (Riskcom) was officially introduced in schools to empower children against social vices:
* Model Girls Secondary School, Rumueme (JSS) – September 2020
* Community Secondary School, Nkpolu – 2020

OBJECTIVES:
1. To build champions and ambassadors that will carry the vanguards of risk communication message and stand against all social vices in and out of schools.

2. Train and educate students to imbibe the confidence and self-esteem and speak up, "when you see something, say something."

3. To properly train children to be equipped with family life skills and other components of the Risk Communication club.

4. To ensure and maintain real-time information sharing with stakeholders and experts through RiskComm reporting system.

5. To sensitize and create awareness in the 23 LGEAs in both Public and Private Schools.

INTRODUCTION: TO RISK COMMUNICATION CLUB IN SCHOOLS:
Riskcom. Club in Schools is a novel idea that was conceived during the emergency preparedness response of Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) Pillar, in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
The vision was founded by Amb. Tonjo M. Harry Esq. as a vehicle to address all kinds of risks affecting children In and Out of schools.
At that time, children became victims of sexual abuse, molestation, r**e, gender-based violence, drug abuse, child’s labor, and all forms of social vices In and Out of schools.
In view of this, Risk Communication club was supported by UNICEF for an immediate intervention in the year 2020.
