The work was done. The memories were made. Then came the applause.

The closing ceremony of Gbedegu ’26 made room to recognise the people whose efforts helped bring the conference to life.

From outstanding contributions to moments that deserved a little extra recognition, the awards reminded us that behind every successful conference are people who give their time, energy and heart to making it happen.

A well-deserved celebration for people who made their mark.

Congratulations to all our honourees.

After days of learning, conversations, competition, culture, laughter and new connections, the final night of GBEDEGU ’26 eventually came to an end.

The closing ceremony gave us one last chance to celebrate the people, the moments and the memories that made these few days in Abuja special.

We came together as delegates.

We leave with stories to tell, people to call and memories that will stay with us long after the lights go down.

Gbedegu ’26, what a ride.

Until we meet again. 💙

Wealth is built, not wished for.

Another Training & Skill Development Session at the 2026 JCI Nigeria Northern Conference focused on: _’Money Matters: Personal Finance, Wealth Creation and Financial Freedom.’_

Led by Rhoda Ojoma Joseph, delegates got practical insights on budgeting, saving, investing, and building multiple income streams — tools to take control of their finances and build lasting wealth.

Because a leader who is broke can’t lead boldly. At ‘GBEDEGU ‘26, we’re building leaders who are equipped in every area.

The second day of the 2026 JCI Nigeria Northern Conference, ‘GBEDEGU ‘26, continued with a critical conversation every leader needs to have: how do we move from good ideas to great outcomes?

In the Training & Skill Development Session titled _’Project Management for Impact: From Idea to Execution’,_ delegates were taken through the practical systems that turn vision into reality.

Facilitated by JCIN Amb. Shamsudeen Aderoju, CEO of ShamzBridge Consult Ltd., the session dismantled the myth that passion alone is enough.

At ‘GBEDEGU ‘26, we were reminded that leadership is stewardship. It is the responsibility to start well and to finish stronger.

Some conversations deserve more than a stage.

At GBEDEGU ’26, JCI Nigeria’s leadership sat down for a media parley with members of the Press about the organisation, its impact and where it is headed.

From the opportunities and challenges of growing JCI across Northern Nigeria to youth participation, leadership development, membership sustainability and creating real opportunities for young people, the questions went beyond the conference programme.

The conversation also looked inward: What has JCI Nigeria achieved? What still needs to change? How does leadership development translate into impact beyond training rooms? And, perhaps most importantly, what should success look like when everyone has returned home?

The discussion featured JCIN Amb. Akinbode Abitogun, National President; JCIN Amb. Lanre Alawode, Executive Vice President, North West; JCIN Amb. Hauwa Musa, Executive Vice President, North East; and other members of the JCI Nigeria leadership.

It was candid. It was thoughtful. And most importantly, it was a conversation about what comes next.

They came to learn. They leave with more to carry.

After days of conversations, training, reflection, new connections and a fair share of challenges, the participants of the 2026 Northern Leadership Academy have officially graduated.

To every NLA ’26 graduate: Congratulations!

May what you learnt here show up in the rooms you enter, the people you lead and the communities you serve.

Class of NLA ’26, you did it. 🎓

What does it take to build the New North?

At Gbedegu ’26, Salamatou Ya’ardua, Director at Acasus and former Deputy Country Director at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (Malawi), took delegates into that conversation through the theme session, “Build Forward, Future Vision and the New North.”

A thought-provoking session on the kind of future we want to build—and the kind of leaders that future will require.
One idea stood out: trust is one of the most important infrastructures we can build.

Trust is earned by showing up. By being competent. And, most importantly, by delivering.

The New North starts with what we do today.

The wait was over. GBEDEGU ’26 had officially begun.

After days of preparation, learning and anticipation, the 2026 JCI Nigeria Northern Conference opened its doors in Abuja.

The Opening Ceremony brought together JCI members from across the country for a few days of learning, connection, culture, celebration and the shared experience that makes a JCI conference special.

The room was full.
The energy was unmistakable.
And the North welcomed us in.

Welcome to Gbedegu ’26.

Abuja, we made some memories. 💙
