THE JEWISH CULTURE OF DATING IN THE BIBLE
The Kingdom Principle of Dating
In Scripture, dating was never casual — it was intentional.
In Jewish culture, relationships were covenant-driven, not emotion-driven. Courtship was not entertainment; it was preparation for marriage. Families were involved. Character was examined. Purpose was prioritized.
When Abraham sought a wife for Isaac (Genesis 24), it was not based on attraction alone. It was based on covenant alignment, family values, spiritual discernment, and divine guidance.
That is the Kingdom pattern.
The Kingdom principle of dating is simple:
• Date with marriage in mind.
• Seek purpose before passion.
• Value character above chemistry.
• Involve spiritual authority and wise counsel.
• Guard purity as an act of honor to God.
Modern dating asks, “Do I feel good with this person?”
Kingdom dating asks, “Is this person aligned with my destiny?”
In biblical culture, a relationship was not private experimentation; it was a serious journey toward covenant.
When purpose is absent, emotions become dangerous.
When God is excluded, confusion becomes inevitable.
The goal of Kingdom dating is not romance alone — it is covenant, legacy, and generational impact.
If you date casually, you marry casually.
If you date with covenant in mind, you build with wisdom.
