TODAY'S BIBLE READING: Revelation 9
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE: Revelation 9:4 (KJV)
And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.
TODAY'S TOPIC: THE SEAL OF GOD.
A seal is a stamp with a distinguishing mark upon a document either for the protection of it's content or for preservation. Our scripture here refers to a selected group of Jews numbering one hundred and forty four thousand (144,000) who have the seal of God in their foreheads. This seal has exempted them from the judgement that was to befall the inhabitants of the earth. This selected group of Jews are not the only group with the seal of God. Every believer in Christ also has the seal of God upon their spirits. You have been sealed with the Holy Spirit for the day of your redemption. This means you have been marked out by God, approved eternally and kept secure from judgement. Some folks think the moment they get saved, they have a responsibility to keep themselves in Christ until the day of redemption. None of us can keep ourselves in Christ by our efforts. You are kept and preserved in Christ by the Holy Spirit. He is able to keep you from falling and present you faultless before the Lord. The seal of God is also upon you. You are God's own, and God knows his own. You are different from the unsaved, there is a distinguishing mark of God upon your spirit.
TODAY'S CONFESSION
I am a Child of God. I have the Seal of God upon my spirit. I have been marked out by God, approved eternally and kept secure from judgement. I have been sealed with the Holy Spirit for the day of my redemption.
