Today’s Foundation Dinner/Fellowship at the was truly beautiful and impactful.

We had an amazing time learning, connecting, laughing, giving, and reflecting on the true essence of Rotary. Our guest speaker, Rotarian Tomaka, spoke extensively about the Rotary Foundation and reminded us why we joined Rotary in the first place.

Many Rotarians and Rotaractors shared different reasons ranging from friendship, networking, fun, volunteering, and humanitarian service. But one thing stood out clearly: Rotary is about service above self. It is about giving, donating to the Foundation, touching lives, and putting smiles on faces of people who may never get the chance to say thank you.

The atmosphere was warm, lively, and full of excitement as Rotaractor Jaja, the SAA for the day, kept everyone entertained and energized throughout the fellowship. From the raffle draw where four lucky winners went home with amazing prizes, to the exciting auction session that had members joyfully bidding, every moment was memorable and fun filled.

Special appreciation to the Foundation Chair and the entire committee for coordinating such a seamless and successful fellowship. Indeed, this is what Rotary is all about, fellowship, service, impact, and fun all in one place.

It was an awesome time and a beautiful reminder that through the Rotary Foundation, we can continue doing good in the world.

DISCON BENIN 2026
DAY 3!!!!

Day 3 marked the official opening of the Rotary International District 9141 Conference and it was filled with impactful moments, networking, learning, and celebration.

The day began with the First Timers Breakfast where two of our members, Rtn Jeff and Rtn Hafsat, participated as first-time DISCON attendees. It was an enlightening and memorable experience for them as they connected with Rotarians across the district.

One exciting highlight was the Digital Flag Parade where Rotary clubs across District 9141 were proudly celebrated as their club flags appeared digitally on screen. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and loud cheers as clubs were recognized.

The conference officially kicked off at Cathela Event Centre with the presence of notable dignitaries including the Inspector General of Police, who delivered the keynote speech focusing on security, peace building, and Rotary’s role in promoting peace and conflict resolution in society.

Another proud moment for our club was our Exhibition Booth Presentation where we showcased over 23 impactful projects executed within this Rotary year.

Distinguished guests including the Secretary to Rotary International, John Hewko and his lovely wife, District Governor Trustee Ijeoma Pearl Okoro, Past District Governors, and other Rotary leaders visited our booth and commended the amazing work carried out by our club.

One project that deeply touched hearts was our Peace and conflict resolution Project where a mother and her son were released from the Port Harcourt Correctional Centre. Beyond securing their release, the club rented an apartment for them and empowered both of them financially:
The mother was supported to start a fries business while the son was empowered to begin his graphics design business. Today, they are doing well and rebuilding their lives with hope.

We also showcased our students’ art competition projects which attracted admiration from visitors and leaders across the district.

In the evening we had the Costume Carnival/Fantasy night,Rotarians dressed in various costumes looking so beautiful.

Indeed, Day 3 was inspiring, impactful, and unforgettable.

DISCON BENIN 2026
DAY 4 !!!

The final day of the Rotary International District 9141 Conference was a perfect blend of leadership, fellowship, networking, celebration, and recognition.

The conference sessions continued with motions and resolutions as Rotarians discussed important matters that will shape the future of Rotary within the district.

One inspiring session featured the spouses of District Governor and Past District Governors who shared their experiences, sacrifices, and support systems throughout their Rotary journey. Their stories reflected commitment, partnership, and dedication to service.

We also visited the House of Friendship where friendships were built, connections strengthened, ideas exchanged, and memories created with Rotarians from different clubs and regions.

The grand finale of DISCON 2026 was the Closing Banquet and Award Night, a glamorous evening filled with celebration and recognition for outstanding service and impactful projects.

Our club was greatly honoured with several awards and recognitions including:

🏅 Rotary District 9141 Rotary Foundation Certificate of Appreciation
For making a minimum donation of $1,500 to the Polio Plus Fund within the first half of the Rotary year.

🏅 Rotary District 9141 Certificate of Recognition and Appreciation
For outstanding projects and activities carried out in commemoration of International Women’s Day and the International Day of the Girl Child.

🏅 Rotary District 9141 Gladiator Certificate
For payment of Rotary International District dues for the 2025/2026 Rotary year.

🏅 Rotary District 9141 Certificate of Appreciation

We did not just attend DISCON 2026.
We represented, we connected, we learned, we served, and we came back celebrated.

Benin City gave us memories, lessons, friendships, and experiences that will remain unforgettable.

DISCON BENIN 2026
DAY 2!!!

Day 2 of the Rotary International District 9141 Conference was dedicated to creating awareness and taking action against polio through the End Polio Now Walk.

Rotarians across the district gathered at the Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub, fully dressed in our End Polio Now shirts, united with one voice and one mission to eradicate polio from the world.

We took to the streets of Benin City, walking through Ring Road while educating mothers, fathers, and members of the public on the importance of immunization and ensuring every child gets vaccinated.

It was inspiring to see Rotarians, district leaders, and the District Governor all walking together in solidarity and service to humanity.

The awareness walk ended at the Benin Museum where we explored beautiful artworks and experienced the rich cultural heritage and history of the ancient Benin Kingdom.

Indeed, Rotary is not just about meetings and conferences.
It is about impacting lives, spreading hope, and creating awareness that transforms communities.
