Dear Friends,
Happy New Month!
Welcome to the month of August a month in Rotary dedicated to Membership Development.
As we step into this new month, I want to encourage every one of us to remember that people remain Rotary’s greatest asset. While our projects touch lives, it is our members who make those projects possible. Every Rotarian represents hope, service, leadership, and positive change.
This month, I challenge each of us to intentionally become ambassadors of our great club. There are people around us who share our values, possess the heart to serve, and are looking for a platform to make meaningful impact. Let us identify them, invite them, and introduce them to the beauty of Rotary.
Growing our membership is not just about increasing our numbers; it is about expanding our capacity to serve, strengthening our fellowship, and ensuring that our legacy continues for generations to come. At the same time, let us continue to value and appreciate one another, creating an atmosphere where every member feels welcomed, respected, and proud to call the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Odili Meadow home.
This month is also a very special one for our club as we celebrate two significant milestones.
On Saturday, 15th August 2026, our own CP, Rtn. Tomiwa, will be saying “I do” in Warri. On behalf of the club, I warmly congratulate him and encourage every member, as much as possible, to be part of this joyous occasion. Let us celebrate with him and demonstrate the true spirit of Rotary fellowship by sharing in one of the most memorable moments of his life.
Furthermore, our much-anticipated 2026/2027 Club Installation Ceremony comes up on Sunday, 30th August 2026. This is more than just an installation; it is the unveiling of our vision for the Rotary year and a celebration of our collective commitment to service. I humbly solicit the support of every member. Whether through your presence, sponsorship, goodwill messages, advert placement, donations, publicity, or by inviting family, friends, and guests, every contribution will go a long way in making our installation a memorable and successful one. When we all play our part, we all share in the success.
I sincerely appreciate every member for your commitment, sacrifices, and unwavering support. Thank you for showing up, for believing in our vision, and for giving your time, resources, and hearts to service. Together, we are building a club that will not only be known for impactful projects but also for genuine fellowship, excellence, and lasting friendships.
As we journey through August, I encourage us to stay committed, remain united, and continue to embody Service Above Self in everything we do. I have no doubt that the best days of our club are ahead of us, and together, we will continue to achieve even greater milestones.
May this new month bring renewed strength, divine favour, wisdom, peace, good health, open doors, and abundant opportunities for you and your families. May all that concerns you prosper, and may we continue to find fulfilment in touching lives and making a lasting impact.
