FIELD TRIP TO OGBELE FIELD (OML 54)

SPE Port Harcourt Section Young Professionals present an exclusive field trip to Aradel Holdings PLC's Ogbele Field (OML 54), one of Nigeria's pioneering indigenous oil and gas assets.

This visit offers participants a unique opportunity to gain firsthand exposure to field operations, production facilities, and the workings of a leading indigenous energy company.

Location: Ogbele Field, Ahoada East, Rivers State

NB: Up-to-date SPE membership and full PPE are mandatory for all participants.

Meet Christian, a dedicated volunteer with SPE Port Harcourt Section.
Her passion for volunteering and student engagement inspired her to join SPE outreach initiatives like ALP, where she has found fulfillment in giving back and creating awareness among students.
Through volunteering, Zipporah has gained practical experience, improved her confidence, and expanded her industry knowledge through programs like the Petroleum Engineering Bootcamp.

One experience she holds dearly is participating in school outreaches, encouraging students and helping them see possibilities for their future in engineering.
Volunteering has also connected her with supportive students, professionals, and mentors within the SPE community.

Her advice: “Just start. Be willing to learn, stay consistent, and take advantage of every opportunity.”

Sand production continues to threaten flow assurance and asset integrity in oil & gas operations, causing equipment erosion, production losses, high maintenance costs, and unplanned shutdowns.

This session will explore non-disruptive surface sand management using cyclone desander technology. By leveraging centrifugal forces, multiphase fluids enter the cyclone at high velocity, separating denser sand particles through the underflow while cleaned fluid exits via the overflow — all without stopping production.
