HAPPY NEW MONTH! WELCOME TO A NEW ROTARY YEAR!

Dear Friends, Rotarians, and Members of our Blue Ocean Family,

Happy New Month!

First, let me say thank you for staying with us.

You may have noticed our silence over the past few weeks, and for that, we sincerely apologize. We took a brief pause; not because we stopped serving, but because we needed the time to reflect, regroup, and prepare to return even stronger.

And now...

We're back!

With renewed energy.
With a renewed vision.
With an even greater commitment to making a difference.

As the 2026/2027 Rotary Year begins under the inspiring theme “Create Lasting Impact," the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Blue Ocean is ready to embrace every opportunity to serve our communities with passion, purpose, and excellence.

Service has always been at the heart of who we are, and this year will be no different.

We remain committed to Service Above Self through impactful projects, meaningful partnerships, membership growth, youth development, environmental sustainability, maternal and child health, disease prevention, peacebuilding, and every avenue through which we can transform lives and strengthen our communities.

This is more than a new month.

It is the beginning of a new chapter.

The Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Blue Ocean turned screens into a powerful space of connection as we hosted an inspiring online fellowship with Rtn. Martha Okere speaking on “How Rotary Can Turn Conflict Into Fellowship.” 💙🌊 And what a session it was!

She reminded us that conflict, when handled with emotional intelligence, open communication, and shared purpose, doesn’t divide — it refines. With practical, relatable insights, she showed how misunderstandings can become moments of growth and how differences can strengthen, not scatter, a team.

These are principles we intentionally practice at Blue Ocean — and they are the reason we remain united, joyful, and impact-driven. Because here, we don’t just serve together… we grow together. 🔥✨

Yesterday, the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Blue Ocean gathered for a refreshing physical fellowship — a beautiful evening dedicated to rekindling friendships and strengthening our shared commitment to service. From warm cups of tea in delightful varieties to a light dinner shared in laughter, it was more than a meeting — it was connection, purpose, and renewed energy.

Beyond the smiles and reconnections, we got to work. At the heart of our discussions is a transformative WASH project for a public secondary school. A needs assessment committee, ably led by Rtn. Edward, has been constituted and will revert with a detailed budget shortly. We are also gearing up for a joint quiz competition in April/May for our chartered Interact and EarlyAct clubs, alongside invited schools — investing intentionally in the next generation.

With our Strategic Retreat scheduled for June and an incoming board fully fired up, Blue Ocean is not just planning projects — we are building impact. The future is bright, and we’re only just getting started. 💙🌊✨

As the lights shine brighter and hearts grow warmer, we are reminded that the true spirit of Christmas lives in giving, kindness, and showing up for one another. 💙🌊

Throughout the year, we have served with purpose, compassion, and unity — touching lives, restoring hope, and creating impact where it matters most. This season renews our commitment to Service Above Self, as we continue to spread joy, health, and opportunity across our communities. 🤝✨
