🧹 The Broom Reset Ritual

Choose a clean broom that you use only for this purpose if possible.

Open a window or door to let fresh air into your home.

Stand quietly for a moment and think about what you want to leave behind (, discouragement, clutter, or old habits).

Starting from the back of your home, slowly sweep toward the front door.

As you sweep, silently repeat:
"I clear away yesterday's burdens. I make room for peace, wisdom, and new opportunities."

Gather the dust and dispose of it outside.

Finish by sweeping the front doorstep once, then put the broom away with gratitude.

Over the years, life has taught me that titles may open doors, but it is character that keeps them open.

I’ve been privileged to know Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, for many years, and if there’s one thing I can say without hesitation, it’s that she has remained true to herself through every season. She is one of those people whose values don’t change when the spotlight comes on.

I’ve watched her grow, work, serve, and lead with quiet confidence. She doesn’t make noise for the sake of attention. She lets her work speak. She prepares. She listens. She cares. And when she commits to something, she gives it everything she has.

Leadership, in my experience, isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about having the integrity to do the right thing, the humility to listen, and the courage to make difficult decisions when they matter most. Those are the qualities I have consistently seen in Oyinkansola.

The Nigerian Bar Association stands at a defining moment in its history. It deserves a leader who understands where the profession has been, appreciates where it is today, and has the vision to take it where it needs to be. More importantly, it deserves someone who will lead with dignity, fairness, and a genuine heart for service while preparing the Bar for the future.

For me, this isn’t simply about supporting a friend. It’s about standing behind someone I sincerely believe is prepared for the responsibility ahead.

That is why I wholeheartedly support Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, for election as the 33rd President of the Nigerian Bar Association.

To every member of the NBA, I encourage you to look beyond the campaign season. Look at the person. Look at the journey. Look at the values. Look at the consistency.

I believe you’ll arrive at the same conclusion I have.

Oyinkansola is ready.

I wish her God’s grace, wisdom, and every success as she seeks to serve our nation’s legal profession.
