TODAY'S SCRIPTURE: Mark 5:36 (KJV)
As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.
TODAY’S TOPIC: ONLY BELIEVE!
There is an old song with the lyrics that says “only believe, only believe. All things are possible, only believe”. The one requirement that activates possibilities is believing. When the ruler of the synagogue received news about his daughter's death. The news the ruler got meant it was over. He had no reason to be hopeful anymore, it meant the case was closed. However Jesus reopened the case by saying to him “be not afraid, only believe”. Sometimes the only natural option available to you could be fear and despair. The news media is not designed to keep you unafraid; the things you see and hear daily are also not working towards a positive direction. The words of Jesus still stand out today for you and can also reopen cases that were humanly closed. Never let fear get the best of you, stop taking actions driven by fear. Fear is actually faith in the ability of the circumstance. Therefore “be not afraid” means do not put your faith in the negative outcome of the circumstance or situation. Only believe in God's ability and willingness to turn the situation around. Only believe in the sacrifice of Jesus for you. Let this words ring in your spirit the rest of the day “Only believe, only believe. All things are possible,
only believe”.
TODAY'S CONFESSION
Lord I believe. My heart believes in the irreversible death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. I believe for a great day today and a greater tomorrow. All things are possible to me.
