Empowering Women, Supporting Homes

At IBAGI Domestic Services Nigeria a proud subsidiary of I Build A Girl Initiative Nigeria (IBAGI), we believe that when women support women, communities thrive. 💪🏽

Our goal is simple yet powerful which is to create decent and dignified job opportunities for women and girls, training and placing them as professional nannies, caregivers, cleaners, and home assistants.
And in return, to help other women reduce their daily burdens, find balance, and focus on their careers, families, and dreams.

Through trust, skill, and compassion, we’re building a network of women who uplift one another, one home, one job, one opportunity at a time.

From nannies and caregivers who treat your loved ones with care, to professional cleaners, drivers, and errand staff who make your day smoother. we bring trust, experience, and excellence right to your doorstep.

International Day of the Girl Child 2025

Dear Friends, Supporters & Dreamers,

As we mark 15 years of I Build A Girl Initiative Nigeria , my heart swells with both sorrow and strength. Sorrow for the many silent battles girls still face and strength from each young life we’ve touched, each voice we’ve helped lift.

On this International Day of the Girl Child, we lean into this year’s theme: “The girl I am, the change I lead: Girls on the frontline of crisis.” It is a stark reminder that girls are not just victims of crisis they are agents of hope. In classrooms battered by conflict, in communities shaken by climate, even in homes burdened by inequality girls are rising.

For fifteen years, we have stood beside girls with courage and vision. Today, we recommit to nurture their leadership, to protect their rights, to ensure their voices resound.

To everyone who has believed, contributed, stood firm, I say thank you. Let us continue walking, building, believing in a world where every girl leads the change she wishes to see.

In solidarity and hope,
Jimmy Chinedu

Yesterday we got a report about a case of domestic abuse. The victim who happens to be the mother of a year old child was arrested by the abuser who is the father of her child.

She was charged for Child Abduction according to the petition by the boyfriend (father of the child) and the IPO collected the sum of 100k as a bail fee to secure the release of woman who was accused of abduction. I mean her own child , simply because she ran out of the house because of the constant beating.

We called the IPO and informed him that firstly, we need the money back and he bluntly refused and told me openly that I'm interested in the matter because I'm dating the accused woman.

We will be at the state CID tomorrow to retrieve the money and also file for a case of domestic abuse and assault through our organisation I Build A Girl Initiative Nigeria .

Please I'm calling on the Nigeria Police Force Bosindelive to help in addressing this issue as we have known the police force to be where we get fairness without any form of prejudice...

We need the 100k back !!!! Justice must be served.

WHEN HOME ISN’T SAFE

Where do you run...
When danger doesn’t come from the streets,
But from your bedroom, your kitchen, your own family?

This is the reality for too many women and girls in Nigeria.

đź’” Home should be a place of peace.
A place to rest. To feel safe. To breathe freely.

But for countless women and girls,
Home is where the hurt happens.

Not by strangers.
But by those they know...
Those they love...
Those they’re told to trust.

Let’s face the numbers.

68% of Nigerian women have experienced emotional, physical, or sexual abuse.
1 in 4 girls is sexually abused before the age of 18.
Most of this abuse happens *inside the home.

Let that sink in.
The one place that should protect you... becomes the one that breaks you.

So, why don’t they leave?

Why don’t they speak?

Because they are told:
Keep it in the family.
Don’t embarrass us.
Endure it. It’s your duty.
Marriage is for better or worse.
Who will believe you anyway?

So they stay.
They suffer.
They survive in silence.

Imagine living in fear of the person who sits across the dinner table.
Imagine hiding bruises behind makeup...
Or pretending the nightmares are just dreams.

Now imagine doing that every day, and still being expected to smile.

A survivor once said:
"I screamed in silence for years. But silence was what my family taught me best."

We need to unlearn the silence.
We need to stop protecting abusers and start protecting survivors.

We need to believe women.
We need to defend our girls.
We need to make our home safe again.

If you are experiencing abuse, know this:
You are not alone.
You are not to blame.
You deserve safety. You deserve to be heard.
You deserve peace, even inside your own home.

Speak. Support. Share.
Together, we can break the silence.
Together, we can end the violence.

Dear Sisters,

Let's talk about The Silent Crisis Women and Girls Face as a result of Abuse.

Do you know…!

1 in 3 Nigerian women have experienced physical or sexual violence in their lifetime, and most never speak up?

Behind the smiles, too many girls are hiding bruises, broken trust, and trauma.

Violence isn't always physical, it can be emotional, psychological, or even economic.

What should you do if you experience this abuse?

Run for safety and scream for help if you find yourself in such situation .

Call out the helpline for immediate intervention. 08100954650

Immediately take photos and videos of the injury you sustain, the properties that were damaged.

Send the evidence to a trusted friend or family member or you can send it to our program director here to document and keep it safe.

Go to a reputable hospital for treatment and doctor's report.

Gender-Based Violence is real. And it's closer than we think.

Share this for other women to join this community.

15 Years Ago, I Took an Oath…

To be a voice for her.
To protect her.
To never look away when girls are silenced, abused, or forgotten.

What began as a spark in my heart has grown into a lifelong mission. I’ve walked into rooms where my voice was the only one speaking for girls who couldn’t.

I’ve stood in courtrooms, classrooms, and conflict zones holding space for stories too heavy for a child to carry.

Some days broke me. Others built me.
But through it all, I held on to the promise I made, to protect her. Always.

I’ve seen girls rise, once voiceless, now bold and brilliant. And I’ve seen what happens when just one person decides to stand.

15 years later, I still carry the same fire. This is not just a journey. It’s a calling. And I’m still answering it.

For every girl still fighting to be heard: I’m here. We’re here. We won’t stop.

THE HIDDEN ABUSE IN OUR HOMES MUST END.

Too many young girls are being taken from poor or rural families by couples who promise to "help" them. But behind those closed doors, these children are suffering in silence.

They are denied education, forced into long hours of domestic labor, and treated as lesser beings. Many are beaten by the wife, starved, and emotionally broken. Even worse, some are sexually molested by the husband, while the woman turns a blind eye or even joins in the cruelty.

This is not kindness.
This is modern-day child abuse.
And it is happening around us, often unspoken, ignored, or excused.

These girls carry invisible scars for life. Their childhood is stolen, their dreams crushed, their trust shattered.

Yet our silence is part of the problem.
Neighbors know. Families suspect. But no one speaks.

That ends now.!!!

👉 If you know a child in such a home, speak up.
👉 If you suspect abuse, report it.
👉 If you’re hiring help, make sure it’s an adult with rights, not a child with no voice.

We need stronger laws, active community monitoring, and zero tolerance for anyone using children as slaves or objects of desire.

Let girls go to school. Let them play. Let them be children.

📣 Speak. Report. Act. To I Build A Girl Initiative Nigeria or call 08100954650
Because protecting children is everyone’s responsibility.

We Are Born Equal But Are We Treated That Way?

From the moment we take our first breath, every child is born with equal value, potential, and dreams. But somewhere along the way, society starts drawing lines dividing opportunities, expectations, and rights based on gender.

Why is a girl still denied education in some communities?
Why do women earn less for the same job?
Why is leadership still seen as a man’s space?

Equality isn't just a dream it's a right.
At I Build A Girl Initiative, we believe that when girls are healthy, educated, and empowered, they rise and when they rise, we all rise.

Let’s challenge harmful norms.
Let’s amplify girls’ voices.
Let’s create a world where being born a girl doesn’t mean being born with limits.

We are born equal. Let’s live equally.

Join us in building a world where no girl is left behind.
