On this International Women's Day, it is a privilege to stand with SARSI in recognizing the strength, agency, and humanity of female s*x workers.
True empowerment means celebrating all women, regardless of their profession or the paths they walk. Today is about honoring your resilience, your rights, and your place in the global movement for equality.International Women's Day is a reminder that "None of us are free until all of us are free." Solidarity isn't conditional. It doesn't stop at the edges of society or the margins of industry.
Today, we celebrate your independence, your resilience, and your right to safety and respect. May you feel seen, valued, and empowered—not just today, but every single day.
"To every woman who works, who dreams, and who fights for her space in this world: Your voice matters. Your labor is recognized. Your dignity is non-negotiable." Our health, our body our rights

International S*x Worker Rights Day

This day’s history goes back to 2001, when over 25,000 s*x workers gathered in India for a festival despite efforts from prohibitionist groups who tried to prevent it taking place by pressuring the government to revoke their permit.  The event was organised by Durbar Mahila Samanwaya Committee, a Calcutta based group that has over 50,000 s*x worker members, and members of their communities.  S*x worker groups across the world have subsequently celebrated 3rd March as an annual, international event, as International S*x Workers’ Rights Day.

We'll be sharing posts from NSWP members throughout the day.

Fight r**e for bail not s*x workers

On #𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐱 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬’ 𝐑𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲, we affirm that s*x work is labour. It demands decriminalization, safety, freedom from violence, and full bodily autonomy.

S*x workers are transforming the world of work through resilience and collective power. Our rights are non-negotiable.

S*x Workers rights are human rights. We deserve to be treated right. Say no to stigma and discrimination against s*x workers in Nigeria and across the world. Together we stand

Sisters Ability & Right Support Initiative(SARSI)'s mission of protecting the physical integrity and human rights of women/girls is fundamental to building a healthier, more equitable society.
In Nigeria, where the prevalence of Female Ge***al Mutilation(FGM) remains a significant challenge, moving from awareness to accountability is the crucial next step. While the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act (VAPP) exists, real change happens when community leaders, healthcare providers, and local advocates work in tandem to shift cultural norms and enforce these protections. We Can Amplify our voices by inclusive advocacy efforts reaching more relevant stakeholders and voices, drive tangible results like Circumcision-free society, success stories of survivors who are now leading the charge for change, this can help bridge the gap between human rights and public health. Our Health Our Rights is SARSI motto

"There is no social, religious, or health justification for FGM. It is a violation of the basic rights of girls and women."
