DBI Foundation & Homes is strengthening families through Maternal, Young Child, and Infant Nutrition (MYCIN) within our HIV program*
At DBI Foundation, we know that good nutrition is the foundation of health, especially for mothers and children living with or affected by HIV. That’s why we’ve woven MYCIN into our HIV prevention, care, and treatment services to support pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, infants, and young children every step of the way.
Through MYCIN, we’re helping to strengthen immune systems, improve the effectiveness of ART, and reduce the risk of mother-to-child transmission. We also focus on supporting healthier pregnancies, ensuring infants grow and develop well, and lowering HIV-related illness and loss of life in the communities we serve.
Our work includes improving the nutritional status of pregnant and breastfeeding women living with HIV, promoting the best feeding practices for infants and young children, and helping families stick to their treatment plans for better health outcomes. We’re also working to prevent malnutrition among HIV-exposed and infected children and to give every child a stronger chance at survival, growth, and a healthy future.
This is what it looks like when care goes beyond medicine. At DBI Foundation, we’re here to make sure mothers and children don’t just survive, but thrive.
