Earlier this afternoon, Hon. Mashood Alaka, one of the aspirants seeking to represent the Patigi/Edu/Moro Federal Constituency from Moro Local Government Area, paid a familiarization visit to the office of the Patigi Emirate Youths Forum. During the visit, he engaged in a productive interaction with members and youths of the Patigi Emirate, where he openly shared his intention and aspiration to contest for the seat of the Federal House of Representatives representing Patigi/Edu/Moro Federal Constituency.

The meeting provided an avenue for meaningful discussions on leadership, youth inclusion, and the future development of the constituency. Hon. Alaka appreciated the warm reception accorded to him and emphasized the importance of maintaining strong relationships with the people at the grassroots level, especially the youth who remain vital stakeholders in the democratic process.

He was warmly received by the elders and executives of the Patigi Emirate Youths Forum, who expressed their appreciation for the courtesy visit and commended him for considering the forum worthy of such engagement. They encouraged continuous dialogue between political leaders and the younger generation in order to promote unity, understanding, and sustainable development across the constituency.

Dear Distinguished Senator Suleiman Sadiq Umar,

On behalf of the entire members of the Patigi Emirate Youths Forum, I, Engr. Hamza Nma Ndawuya, the President of Patigi Emirate Youths' Forum and the Sarki Samari of Etsu Patigi, write to sincerely appreciate and commend your immense contributions and remarkable achievements throughout your almost eight years of service as the Senator representing the good people of Kwara North Senatorial District.

Your tenure has undoubtedly brought visible development, empowerment opportunities, and meaningful representation to our people. We acknowledge the various positive impacts your leadership has had across communities within the district, and we pray that Almighty Allah continues to guide, strengthen, and bless you abundantly in all your future endeavors and aspirations.

Distinguished Senator, while we remain grateful for your service and dedication to the growth of Kwara North, we humbly appeal to you to carefully reconsider your reported ambition to seek another term in office. As you are well aware, the Kwara North Senatorial seat has operated under an established zoning arrangement since the return of democratic governance in 1999. This arrangement has helped sustain fairness, equity, unity, and peaceful political coexistence among the constituent local governments within the district.

Going by the existing zoning understanding, it is widely believed that the next turn rightfully belongs to Patigi Local Government Area. Considering that Kaiama Local Government Area, which you proudly represent, would have completed eight uninterrupted years in the Senate by the end of your current tenure, we respectfully appeal to your sense of statesmanship, fairness, and political maturity to support the continuity of the zoning principle by allowing Patigi Local Government to take its rightful turn.

I wish to extend my deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the resilient people of Dina and Mari, as well as to the Officer in Charge of the Patigi Army Forward Base, over the tragic loss of lives recorded during the recent bandits’ attack on your communities. This unfortunate incident, which claimed the lives of brave individuals, has left a profound sense of grief and concern in our hearts.

The events of that day have been deeply troubling, and I want you to know that you are not alone in this difficult and painful moment. Your pain is shared, and your loss is felt beyond your immediate communities. In response, I have engaged with relevant and appropriate authorities, seeking urgent and strategic intervention to strengthen our collective fight against this menace. I remain confident that, with unity, resilience, and decisive action, victory shall ultimately be ours.

I would also like to commend and appreciate the efforts of the federal, state, and local governments for the steps taken so far in addressing security challenges in our region. While these efforts are acknowledged, there is an urgent need for increased reinforcement across our vulnerable communities. I strongly appeal for the deployment of more security personnel, adequately equipped with the necessary resources and modern tools required to effectively combat these threats and restore lasting peace.

A wonderful initiative!

Some enthusiastic NYSC corp members recently visited Engr. Hamza Nma Ndawuya, President of Patigi Emirate Youths Forum, at the Youth's Office, Patigi, and shared their noble mission with him. They were on a quest to advocate for child education and address the pressing issue of drug abuse among young children in Patigi Local Government. Their mission was two-fold: to enlighten parents on the importance of sending their children to school and to warn against the dangers of substance abuse.

The corp members explained that their goal was to sensitize the community on the benefits of education and the devastating consequences of drug abuse, which can derail a child's future. They emphasized that education is key to unlocking the potential of Patigi's young ones and that it's crucial to guide them towards a brighter future.

The Youth President, Engr. Hamza Nma Ndawuya, was impressed by the corp members' passion and commitment to this worthy cause. He appreciated their efforts in championing the education of children in Patigi and addressing the critical issue of drug abuse. He assured them that the Patigi Emirate Youths Forum would not only support their initiative but also join forces with them to drive this message home.

In a show of solidarity, Engr. Hamza Nma Ndawuya accompanied the corp members on a sensitization drive, rallying around the community to spread the word about the benefits of education and the dangers of drug abuse. Together, they emphasized the importance of education in shaping the future of Patigi's young ones and encouraged parents to prioritize their children's schooling. They also warned parents and guardians to be vigilant and monitor their children's activities, steering them away from the pitfalls of substance abuse.
