🌍 CADRE MARSHAL CELEBRATES WORLD YOUTH SKILLS DAY

Today, we proudly join the world in celebrating World Youth Skills Day, recognizing the importance of equipping young people with practical skills for a brighter future.

At CADRE MARSHAL, we believe that discipline, leadership, vocational skills, and community service are the foundation of nation-building. Every young person deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully to society.

This year's celebration reminds us that investing in youth is investing in the future of our nation. Let us encourage our young people to embrace learning, develop new skills, become self-reliant, and lead with integrity.

"A skilled youth is a productive youth, and a productive youth builds a stronger nation."

On this World Youth Skills Day, let us continue to empower the next generation with knowledge, values, and opportunities to succeed.

*WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2026*

Today, as we commemorate World Environment Day, CADRE MARSHAL joins millions around the world in promoting environmental responsibility and sustainable living.
The environment is our shared heritage and our collective responsibility. Every tree planted, every waste properly disposed of, every act of environmental protection contributes to a healthier, safer, and more prosperous future for all.
We remind everyone that:
"The protection of our environment is everybody's business."
A clean environment promotes good health, supports economic growth, preserves biodiversity, and ensures a better future for generations yet unborn. Environmental degradation, pollution, deforestation, and poor waste management threaten our communities and our nation.
As responsible citizens, we must:

1. Plant and protect trees.
2. Keep our surroundings clean.
3. Reduce, reuse, and recycle waste.
4. Conserve water and energy.
5. Educate others on environmental responsibility.
6. Support community environmental initiatives.

CADRE MARSHAL remains committed to promoting discipline, civic responsibility, community service, and environmental stewardship.
Together, let us build a greener, cleaner, and healthier nation.

CADRE MARSHAL - Defence for the Nation, Dignity to the Law.

BRING BACK OUR CHILDREN AND TEACHERS

Every child deserves to learn in a safe environment. Every teacher deserves to carry out their duty without fear.

The recent attacks on schools and the abduction of students and teachers are painful reminders of the security challenges facing our communities. We stand in solidarity with the affected families, schools, and communities during this difficult time.

We call on all relevant authorities and security agencies to intensify efforts toward the safe and immediate return of all abducted children and teachers.

Education must never become a dangerous journey. Schools should remain places of learning, hope, and opportunity, not fear.

Together, let us raise our voices for the protection of our schools, our teachers, and our future generations.

Bring Back Our Children. Bring Back Our Teachers.

COMMUNITY POLICING IN NIGERIA: CAN OUR EXISTING STRUCTURES MAKE IT WORK?

The debate on community policing and state policing continues to grow in Nigeria as communities seek more effective ways to tackle insecurity. However, before creating entirely new structures, it is important to examine whether existing agencies can be strengthened to achieve similar results.

Nigeria already has several security and paramilitary organizations operating at different levels. These include the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, local vigilante groups, hunters' associations, neighbourhood watch groups, and community-based security initiatives. Many of these organizations already possess local knowledge that can be valuable for intelligence gathering and crime prevention.

A practical model would be to assign trained officers and personnel to specific communities for extended periods. Such officers would attend community meetings, interact with traditional rulers, youth leaders, market associations, and religious bodies, and become familiar with local security concerns. This is similar to what is practiced in many developed countries.

In countries such as the United Kingdom, community police officers are attached to neighbourhoods and maintain regular contact with residents. In the United States, many counties operate through sheriff departments. Sheriffs are elected or appointed law enforcement officials responsible for maintaining law and order within their counties. Because they are closely connected to the communities they serve, they often have a better understanding of local security challenges and can respond more effectively.

Can Nigerian paramilitary organizations contribute to community policing? The answer is yes, provided they are properly trained, regulated, and supervised. Organizations such as the Civil Defence Corps and registered community safety groups can complement the work of the police through public safety education, intelligence gathering, conflict mediation, crowd management, and protection of critical infrastructure.

Community-based organizations such as the Cadre Marshal Corps and other registered volunteer security groups can also play supportive roles by promoting security awareness, organizing safety campaigns, assisting during emergencies, and serving as bridges between communities and security agencies. However, they should operate within the law and in partnership with recognized security institutions.

The goal of community policing is not to replace the police. Rather, it is to create a system where security agencies, paramilitary organizations, traditional institutions, and community members work together to prevent crime before it occurs.

Nigeria already possesses many of the structures required for effective community policing. What remains is better coordination, stronger public trust, proper training, adequate funding, and clear legal frameworks.

A secure nation is built when security becomes everyone's responsibility.

FROM MAIDUGURI TO OYO: A CALL FOR COLLECTIVE ACTION

The recent abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State has once again drawn national attention to the persistent security challenges confronting our country. From Maiduguri and other affected communities in the North-East to the latest incident in Oyo State, innocent citizens continue to bear the burden of criminal activities that threaten peace, education, and development.

As an organization committed to community safety, discipline, and national development, we at Cadre Marshal Corps view this unfortunate incident as a reminder that security is not the responsibility of security agencies alone. It is a collective duty that requires the cooperation of government, security stakeholders, community leaders, and every responsible citizen.

The abduction of children and educators is an attack on our future. It creates fear, disrupts learning, and weakens the confidence of communities. We therefore call on all Nigerians to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities promptly, and support lawful efforts aimed at safeguarding lives and property.

We also urge relevant authorities to continue strengthening intelligence gathering, community policing initiatives, and proactive security measures to prevent similar occurrences across the nation.

As we stand in solidarity with the victims, their families, and the people of Oyo State, we pray for the safe and immediate return of all those affected.

Together, we can build a safer and more secure Nigeria.
