The Rotaract Club of Oyo Central is pleased to announce the opening of its August Membership Drive, in line with Rotary's global membership campaign. FINAL PROJECT REPORT – DAY 2 (EXPECTANT MOTHERS)

Today marked the successful completion of the second day of our flagship community health project at Oba Adeyemi Primary Health Centre, Oyo.

While Day 1 focused on nursing mothers, providing them with health education and essential support for maternal and child well-being, Day 2 was dedicated to expectant mothers. Through interactive health talks, antenatal education, and the distribution of support materials, we empowered pregnant women with vital information to promote safe pregnancies, healthy deliveries, and improved maternal outcomes.

This two-day intervention reflects our unwavering commitment to improving maternal and child health within our community.

We express our sincere appreciation to the management and staff of Oba Adeyemi Primary Health Centre for their hospitality, collaboration, and the enabling environment that contributed immensely to the success of this project. We are equally grateful to our donors, partners, volunteers, and every Rotaractor whose dedication and selfless service made this initiative a success.

As we conclude this project, we celebrate the lives touched, the knowledge shared, and the lasting impact created. We remain committed to serving our communities and advancing Rotary's mission of creating healthier and stronger families.

*MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH*

*Project*: Healthy Mother, Healthy Baby Outreach

*Venue*: Oke-Olola Primary Health Centre, Oke-Olola, Oyo
*Date*: July 20, 2026

*Summary*
_Healthy mothers build healthy families, and healthy families build stronger communities_
Day 1 of the _Healthy Mother, Healthy Baby_ outreach was successfully held at Oke-Olola Primary Health Centre. The goal was to provide health education and support for nursing mothers in the community.

*Key Activities*
- *Health Education*: Nursing mothers received lessons on maternal health, infant care, hygiene, and nutrition.
- *Maternal Health Quiz*: An interactive session to reinforce learning.
- *Gift Distribution*: 25 appreciation gifts were given
- 10 to early-arriving mothers
- 15 to quiz participants
_Items: Diapers, detergents, and buckets_

*Outcome*
The outreach recorded strong participation, improved health awareness, and positive feedback from beneficiaries and health workers. It strengthened community partnership and set the tone for the next phases.

*HEALTHY MOTHERS, HEALTHY BABIES*

The health of every community begins with the well-being of its mothers and children. In line with our commitment to creating lasting impact through selfless service, *The Rotaract Club of Oyo Central* proudly presents the Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Initiative - a two-phase maternal and child health outreach designed to promote healthier families and safer communities.

This initiative aims to provide health education, promote safe motherhood practices, encourage proper child care, and support women through critical stages of motherhood. By empowering mothers with the right knowledge and resources, we are investing in a healthier future for every child and every family.

ROTARACT CLUB OF OYO CENTRAL USHERS IN NEW LEADERSHIP

The Rotaract Club of Oyo Central, last Sunday, marked a significant leadership transition as Rtr. Agboluaje Saheed formally handed over the mantle of leadership to Rtr. Kolade Kehinde, signalling the beginning of a new chapter in the club’s commitment to service, fellowship, and community development.

The handover ceremony, which attracted members, friends, and distinguished personalities, provided an avenue to celebrate the achievements of the outgoing leadership while setting the tone for the incoming administration.

The event featured the official handover, fellowship, and fundraising activities, reflecting the core values of Rotaract and strengthening the bond among members and friends of the club.

The transition not only marked the conclusion of one leadership journey but also heralded the beginning of another, with renewed expectations for greater service, stronger fellowship, and sustained impact within the community.

As Rtr. Kolade Kehinde assumes the responsibility of leading the club, the occasion stands as a reminder of the continuity of service and the collective commitment of Rotaractors to making a meaningful difference in society.

Happy New Rotary Year!

It is with profound gratitude to Almighty God and great excitement that I welcome you all to the beginning of another Rotary year. Today marks not just the start of a new calendar of activities, but the beginning of a renewed commitment to service, leadership, fellowship, and positive change.

This Rotary year, we proudly align ourselves with Rotary International President Olayinka Hakeem Babalola's inspiring presidential message: "Create Lasting Impact." This message challenges us to go beyond carrying out projects—it calls us to create meaningful, sustainable change in our communities while allowing Rotary and Rotaract to transform us into better leaders and better people.

As members of the Rotaract Club of Oyo Central, let us commit ourselves to building a stronger and more welcoming club where every member feels valued, respected, and inspired to serve. Let us undertake projects that address real community needs and leave a legacy that will continue to benefit generations after us.

Oyo Alaafin Leo Club in conjunction with Our Club, Rotaract Club of Oyo Central will be doing Blood Donation Drive tomorrow in Ọyọ Alaafin.

This is one of the areas of contributing our own quota to our community, join us and be a part of this Donation Drive, a one unit of Blood donated by you can save up to 3 lives.

Rotaract Club of Oyo Central on Tuesday, 21st of April, 2026 will be on a Care Kit Outreach to Correctional Centre, Abolongo, Oyo for Hygiene & Sanitation Support for almost hundreds of inmates.

This initiative goes beyond donation, it is a hygiene and sanitation awareness project aimed at improving living conditions within the correctional centre.

This is one of our numerous projects for this Rotary year focusing on Disease prevention & Treatment, environmental protection and sanitation as well as community development.

Project Report: School-Essentials Donation Initiative; Basic Education and Literacy

Partners: Rotaract Club of Oyo Central & AWA Foundation
Beneficiaries: 60 students across three local-government basic schools in Oyo
Date: March 31, 2026

Objective
Provide learning support to pupils in underserved communities by donating uniforms, sandals, bags, and socks—removing basic barriers to attendance and confidence.

Beneficiary Schools & LGAs
1. *L.A. Basic School, Bola* — Oyo West LGA
2. *L.A. Basic School, New Durbar* — Oyo East LGA
3. *AUD Basic School, Fiditi* — Afijio LGA

(60 students total, distributed among the three schools.)

Items Donated per Student
- School uniform
- School sandals
- School bag
- Socks

Proceedings & Observations
•Inspections were made few weeks to the distribution date.
• On-site educational talk for pupils on learning habits and school readiness.
- Distribution was conducted on-site with Rotaract and AWA Foundation members present.
- Students expressed clear delight and appreciation; teachers noted the immediate morale boost.
- Principals from each school formally thanked the partners, emphasizing how such support encourages attendance and focus.

Impact
- Direct support to 60 learners’ daily school experience.
- Strengthened community goodwill toward Rotary-affiliated service and AWA Foundation.
- Sets template for growth
