Owo Youth Called on Government to Complete The Owo Township Roads

Infrastructure Development in Owo: A Call for Continuity and Maintenance. by The Owo Youth General Assembly- TOYGA

The state of infrastructural development and maintenance within Owo LGA needs urgent attention for continuation and absolute maintenance else what seems to exist at the moment might fizzle away from consistent vandal acts. The best way to capture the present condition of our infrastructural development condition in Owo at the moment is - a state of total abandonment.

Lately,it has been observed that the street lights along the major township road have been vandalized. The armored cables that supplies power supply have been stolen from the underground with the slabs turned upside down. Most of the generators designed for powering the street lights have become a shadow of themselves due to heavy vandalization work.

While the late Governor was alive,and as an indigene of Owo,it was often echoed wrongly that his attention was on road network infrastructural development within the Owo metropolis whereas this development started with Former Governor Olusegun Mimiko only to be continued by the late Arakurin Rotimi Akeredolu. Since government is continuum,and as one who was part and inherited the former administration,one would have expected much from the incumbent government of Ondo state but as at this material time, nothing much seems to be happening;it's almost looking like an abandoned project going by the body languages.

Information has it that,the continuation of the road network development has been captured in the budget however we are yet to see the commencement or continuation of the project. Some of these township roads need solar street lights and their poles,a properly built round about system, mega bustops, traffic lights and several finishing touches. In some cases,the roads need certain repairs for proper maintenance.
