From everyone at Inclusive Nigerian Youths (INY), we are excited to celebrate your emergence as the Vice President of the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Umuagwo.

Watching one of our Inclusive Leadership Fellows step into a position of influence is always a proud moment. It reminds us why we continue to invest in young people who are passionate about creating positive change.

We believe this new role is another opportunity for you to put into practice the values of inclusive leadership, accountability, service, and collaboration that you embraced during the fellowship. Leadership is not just about holding an office; it’s about making people feel seen, heard, and represented.

Three days. One purpose. A stronger commitment to truth.

Inclusive Nigerian Youths (INY) is proud to share that our Program Lead, , successfully participated in the Truth at the Ballot Regional Workshop held at GolfView Hotel, GRA Ikeja, Lagos.

For three days, journalists, fact-checkers, and civil society leaders from across Nigeria came together to tackle one of the biggest threats to democracy—misinformation and disinformation.

From learning practical fact-checking and OSINT tools to understanding harmful narratives, safe journalism, election security, and the role of CSOs in protecting electoral integrity, every session reinforced one message:

Credible elections begin with credible information.

Beyond the knowledge gained, the workshop created something even more valuable—a network of professionals committed to working together to protect truth and strengthen our democracy ahead of the 2027 elections.

At Inclusive Nigerian Youths, we remain committed to equipping young Nigerians with the knowledge and tools to become informed citizens, promote peace, and defend democratic values.

Our appreciation goes to FactCheck Africa, FIAP, and the European Union in Nigeria under the EU Support to ECOWAS Peace, Security and Governance (EPSG) Project for making this impactful learning experience possible.

The training has ended, but the work continues.

There are moments when a nation must pause and ask itself, what have we built, and what are we still building together?

This year’s Democracy Day theme, “27 Years of Democratic Governance: Achievements, Challenges and the Road Ahead,” is not just a reflection,it is a call to conscience.

We have walked through years marked by hope, struggle, progress, and setbacks. Yet through it all, one truth remains constant: democracy only lives when citizens refuse to give up on it.

To every citizen, especially the youth, your voice is not small, your vote is not wasted, and your participation is not optional. The future we desire will not appear by chance; it will be shaped by our courage to demand accountability, defend justice, and engage responsibly in civic life.

Let this moment renew our belief that Nigeria can work, and that our democracy can be strengthened when we choose responsibility over apathy, unity over division, and action over silence.

The road ahead is still long, but it is ours to walk, together.

As youths, na we suppose determine the kind country we want, because na we get the longer future to live here and na we go raise the next generation for this same country. WE DID NOT JUST COMPLETE A PROJECT. WE IGNITED A MOVEMENT.

A few months ago, we envisioned a future where young people from diverse backgrounds could come together, learn together, lead together, and transform society together.

Today, that vision stands as a reality.

With the successful conclusion of the Inclusive Leadership Fellowship (ILF) 2026, we also officially close our project, Empowering Diversity for Social Transformation 2.0.

What we celebrate today is not merely the completion of activities.

We celebrate the young woman who discovered her voice.

We celebrate the young leader who found the courage to act.

We celebrate the networks that were built, the ideas that were shared, and the possibilities that were unlocked.

We celebrate a generation that is beginning to understand that true leadership is not about power—it is about inclusion, service, and impact.

Through every session, every conversation, every mentorship opportunity, and every challenge, one message remained clear:

Diversity is not a weakness to be managed. It is a strength to be empowered.

To every fellow, speaker, mentor, volunteer, partner, and supporter, thank you for being part of this remarkable journey.

Your contributions have helped shape more than a fellowship.

You have helped shape future leaders.

As this project comes to an end, our commitment does not.

Because inclusion is not a one-time intervention.

Leadership is not a one-time training.

Transformation is not a one-time event.

And our work is far from over.

The fellowship has ended.

The project has closed.

But the vision continues.

And the movement grows stronger.

The future we seek will not be built by a few voices. It will be built when every voice has the opportunity to lead.

Meet Mr. Cookey Iwuoha, Project Coordinator at All Africa Media Network, dialogue facilitator, creative writer, poet, and published author whose work continues to promote peacebuilding, intercultural understanding, and leadership development.

With experience spanning media, advocacy, human rights, and international capacity-building programmes, he has consistently used storytelling and dialogue as tools for transformation and social change.

Meet Mrs. Cynthia Ugochi Akujobi , a development practitioner, gender equality advocate, and youth empowerment leader committed to building a society where every young person has the opportunity to lead and thrive.
