Photo speaks:

After a very engaging, interactive, and insightful session with the students and teachers of Irete Technical School.

The YSN Imo team explained in the simplest form, what Surveying is, how it started, why it remains important in the built environment, and the role it will continue to play in the future.

It was not just a talk, it was a conversation that opened their minds to possibilities they may not have considered before.

The YSN Imo Team also encouraged them to develop interest in the Surveying Profession, guiding them on the right subject combinations required in both WAEC and JAMB to make that journey a reality

This singular initiative is a strong testament to the leadership of the Abara Emmanuel-led YSN Exco, who have remained consistent in promoting the profession and intentionally sowing seeds that will grow into the next generation of Surveyors.

This is impactful, this is intentional, and this is how a Profession secures its future.

Kudos to YSN Imo.

GLOBAL SURVEYORS’ DAY 2026 🌍📐

March 21st every year is a day set aside globally to celebrate Surveyors, to celebrate the professionals who quietly shape the world through measurement, mapping, and geospatial intelligence. It is a day to recognize the value of our work and the impact we make every day through our measurements.

At the Young Surveyors Network (YSN), Imo State Branch, we are not just celebrating the profession, we are setting a reference point for those who will come after us.

As part of this year’s celebration, we will be visiting Technical Secondary School Irete and Azaraegbelu Secondary School on Tuesday, 24th March 2026 by 9am.

Our purpose is clear: to introduce young minds to the world of surveying and inspire them to see a future within it.

Because we are proud of the role we play in delivering geospatial services with accuracy, integrity, and without compromise, we invite all members and well-meaning professionals to join us in this celebration, because Surveying is the foundation on which every meaningful development stands.

Yes, it was an interesting football match between the Nigerian Institution of Surveying and Geoinformatics Students (NISGS) Federal Polytechnic Nekede Owerri Chapter and the Young Surveyors Network (YSN) Imo State branch.

The game started with the YSN-IMO team putting up a dominant display which led to YSN taking the lead with Surv. Andy Okereke.

The second half of the game also continued in same tone, the both teams showing the best of their skills and team play.

just like the first half, the YSN-IMO team doubled the lead to 2-0 with an own-goal from the Surveying students.

After a short period of play with some substitutions made, the YSN-Imo team decided to allow the Surveying students (our babies) to taste their net 🥅. With this development, the student took their chances and score 4 quick goals.

At this juncture, the referee seeing that the YSN-IMO team and retaliate and score more goals😂 he had to hurriedly end the match 😂 leaving the YSN-Imo team with no time to reply the goals.

At the end, it ended *NISGS FEDPONEK 4:2 YSN-IMO*

A big kudos to the YSN Imo State Chair l, Surv Abara Emmanuel⁩ for putting up and making all the necessary arrangements for this novelty match and YSN-Imo team coach Surv. Udegbe Amarachi Modesty Surveyor⁩ for an excellent team display, and also to everyone that participated in the novelty match, the students, YSN members and fans. It was a joyous and memorable event today.

The *Nigerian Institution of Surveying and Geoinformatics Students (NISGS), Fed Poly Nekede Chapter*, will be squaring up against the *Young Surveyors Network (YSN), Imo State Branch*.

*This is not just a novelty match, it's football played with accuracy, precision and geospatial intelligence!* 😁

*🗓️ Date: TODAY! Saturday, 16th August 2025*

*⚽ KICKOFF: 9:00 AM SHARP!*

*📍 VENUE: Fed Poly Nekede Stadium (inside the Campus)*

This is another bold statement by the *Surv. Abara Emmanuel-led leadership of YSN-IMO* to be the bridge between Surveying students and *Surveying professionals* especially in Imo State.

We are creating a space where *mentorship meets momentum*, where *experience fuels ambition* and where *the future of surveying is forged through connection and students shaking hands with experienced Surveyors, right there on the pitch!*

*The Game Plan? its simple?*
The *Surveying Students* are very Young, Full of energy, fast legs and Skills that could probably map the pitch in less than 45 mins🤔. They are hungry to run round the pitch and bag goals! _(but we no go gree them 😂)_

While the *YSN-IMO team* might not have the speed of Mbappe but they have the wisdom of Messi and Christiano Ronaldo combined. 😁 They are bringing *Geospatial Intelligence on the pitch!*

Expect a lot of *tactical triangulation passes slicing through the defense like a traverse line, bisected with a total station 🔭✌😁*
Expect *intersection plays tighter than a closed traverse in front of the 18-yard box!*😁😁

*A big kudos to both YSN-Imo and NISGS Fed Poly Nekede for making this happen!*

Dear valued YSN members,

Words cannot express how I feel for all the effort we put together to make a difference. It is clear that we are really writing our names on the sand of time.

Your dedication, support and contributions are second to none and has been instrumental to our success.

I appreciate the time, effort and energy you've invested in our organization.
To all of us that participated and of course every member of YSN, you have done well.
