On Monday, 13th April 2026, the Rotary Club of Owerri Uptown celebrated its 4th anniversary in grand style 🎉. The memorable event featured a birthday celebration, exciting auction sales, thoughtful gift presentations, and a lively dance session—truly a celebration of service, fellowship, and impact.

The "Pad-A-Girl" project is a major Rotary International initiative, particularly active in Nigeria, focused on empowering girls aged 13–18 by providing sanitary pads, educating on menstrual hygiene, and training them to create reusable pads.

The Rotary Club of Owerri Uptown in partnership with the Rotary Club of Owerri-Central and the Rotary Club of Ojodu Lagos, as they visited the Evette Institute of Catering, Hotel Management and Fashion Design in Owerri, embarked on a meaningful project that will make a difference in the lives of young girls in the Institution by distributing sanitary pads to promote hygiene awareness and support them with essential care.

The Rotary Club of Owerri Uptown in Collaboration with other Clubs in Imo had on Thursday, 26th February, 2026 paid a visit to Imo State Correctional Centre(Prisons)for their Peace and conflict prevention Project. They presented gift items and carried out Peace projects, talks to the inmates.

LOVE IN ACTION - FRINDSHIP & FELLOWSHIP

To mark Valentines Day 2026, the Rotary Club of Owerri Uptown held a joint Fellowship with the Rotary Club of Owerri Government House yesterday which featured; exchange of gifts 🎁 , music and game entertainment, talk on the topic: " Beyond Romance: Celebrating Love Through Service And Fellowship".

Rotary members often use this day to, reconnect with other members by promoting Fellowship and Goodwill, celebrate the spirit of compassion, Friendship and Service, aligning the day of love with the motto " Sevice Above Self".

EMPOWERING ENTREPRENEURS

In the bid to support Rotary’s Economic and Community Projects; the District Governor Rotary District 9142; Rtn. Kelechi Anyanwu has joined the Rotary Club of Owerri Uptown led by her Club President, Rtn. Cornelius Amajuoyi, to mark this project and as well to donate a wheel chair, double sets of shoe making handy tools and seed money to, Mr. Chidera who is a well known shoe maker in Owerri, who suffered total amputation of his limbs due to an attack of Oesteomyelitis .
