Clare Marie Ngozichukwuka Ukaegbu (HFSN). A Brief History
CLARE MARIE FOUNDATION is a registered, faith based non governmental organization (NGO) based in Owerri Imo State. It is practically faith oriented NGO which takes care of the apostolate of the Roman Catholic Church. We basically take care of the streets abandoned and Orphans Vulnerable Children (OVC), we are professionals in pastoral work
in the Church such as teaching of catechism classes in and within and outside parishes (out stations). We equally organise marriage classes for intending couples entering into sacrament of matrimony and mending of broken marriages by God's grace. We engage in the youth’s empowerment program, and strengthening of the widows mostly in rural areas. Rehabilitating the disabled, taking care of the aged and restoring hope in them to find meaning to life. Feeding of the poor and the less privileged every three months. Today in most African countries, taking Nigeria as a case study, the so called affluent convert these streets and vulnerable youths to house maids, as well as subjecting them to hard labour. These streets and abandoned children, lost either of parents or both parents as a result of HIV/AIDS. The girls among them are sexually abused, impregnated and dejected by them, thus, the need for the establishment of the acquisition centre. Here in Nigeria, both the political and religious fanatics are lording it over to them, making life difficult and miserable for them. The rich continues to be richer and the poor, getting poorer and poorer every day. You can now see the need for the CLARE MARIE FOUNDATION. The programs in this skill acquisition centre is being carried out to give rise to skillful and self-reliant individuals in the society that will become liberated from these enslavement and hopeless human conditions that they are being subjected to. For us to run the centre smoothly, many things are involved, and in view of this, we are being confronted mostly with some challenges such as; Vehicle/ wheel chairs, food, for feeding our children who are dying in starvation. We therefore, solicit for donors or assistance in other to enable us achieve the aims for the establishment of this centre. We are not alone in the pursuit of our goals to get the youths out from the streets; we have appealed to some God fearing men and women for assistance, some philanthropists, did some fund raising but much have not been realised to this effect. A parish Priest saw the need for the centre and offered us a temporary site that we are now operating on. Do well to visit our gallery and see what we do. Be rest assured of our continued prayers.
