About Us
The Benue Rebirth Movement (BRM) is a cause-driven organisation committed to the renewal, inclusion and equitable development of the people of Benue State, Nigeria. Our mission is to ensure that all citizens of Benue enjoy access to good governance, fair representation, community growth and a future of possibility. Our Vision
We envision a Benue State in which unity, justice and prosperit

y are the lived experience of every person, regardless of ethnicity, zone or background. A state where political participation is fair, opportunities are distributed equitably, and communities are empowered to flourish. Our Mission
We are dedicated to:
Promoting inclusive governance and ensuring that all zones of Benue are meaningfully represented in leadership and decision-making. Advocating for fairness, transparency and justice in public affairs, so that the dividends of democracy reach the grassroots. Fostering unity and cooperation among the various ethnicities and senatorial zones of Benue, reducing division and building shared purpose. Supporting community-level empowerment, so citizens can be active agents in shaping their immediate environments and future. Engaging in dialogue, peaceful advocacy and strategic partnerships to drive lasting structural change in the state. Our Core Values
Equity – we believe in fair and equal treatment for all zones and communities in Benue. Inclusivity– all voices matter; marginalisation is an obstacle to growth. Integrity– we pursue our objectives with honesty, accountability and respect. Unity we commit to bringing people together rather than dividing them. Empowerment we believe in enabling communities, not merely speaking for them. Our Story
The Benue Rebirth Movement emerged as a response to longstanding calls for voice, representation and fairness in Benue’s political and development processes. Recognising the need for a fresh start, a “rebirth” of inclusive governance, the movement was formally unveiled and led by key stakeholders, including Monday Morgan (Retd AVM) as National Coordinator. Through enlightenment missions, advocacy engagements and coalition-building, BRM is working to shape a Benue where every person can thrive. What We Do
Conducts advocacy and public engagement campaigns on issues of governance, representation and development. Engages government, civic leaders and community stakeholders to advance dialogue and policy reform. Builds awareness among citizens about their rights, about fair distribution of power and resources. Promotes community mobilization, working with youth, women and grassroots structures to strengthen voices from the ground up. Facilitates networking and alliances across the zones of Benue to promote stronger collaborative solutions. Our Focus Areas
Political and Leadership Equity: Ensuring that all senatorial zones of Benue State, especially historically under-represented areas, get fair access to leadership positions and resource allocation. Community Empowerment & Engagement: Strengthening local participation, enhancing civic literacy, and supporting citizens to take ownership of development. Peace & Unity Building: Addressing division, ethnic tensions and marginalisation by promoting respectful dialogue and shared values. Inclusive Growth & Development: Advocating for policies that benefit the least advantaged, ensuring that growth reaches every part of the state. Why We Exist
Decades of disproportionate leadership and resource distribution in Benue have left certain zones feeling excluded and voiceless. BRM exists to challenge that pattern—not through conflict, but through constructive engagement, advocacy and reform. As one example, our organisation underscores the need for leadership rotation, inclusive governance and recognition of all zones. Our Invitation
To fulfil our vision, we invite citizens, community associations, youth and women’s groups, faith-based organisations, civil society and public-sector partners to join us. Together, we will co-create a Benue where fairness, opportunity and dignity are accessible to all. Whether you volunteer, partner, contribute ideas or simply stay informed, you too play a role in the rebirth of our state.

COMMUNIQUÉ ISSUED ON THE OCCASION OF THE BENUE REBIRTH MOVEMENT (BRM) TOWN HALL MEETING FOR THE IDOMA NATION
Held at Leach Hotel, GRA Otukpo, 15th November 2025

The Benue Rebirth Movement (BRM), in its continued quest to champion the cause of the Idoma Nation, convened a historic Town Hall Meeting on the 15th of November, 2025. After extensive deliberations, the following resolutions were adopted:

1. The House passed a vote of absolute confidence in the BRM and its leadership for their unwavering commitment and resolve. They were encouraged to remain steadfast in the struggle for the advancement of the Idoma Nation.

2. It was resolved that a system of internal zoning must be instituted within the Benue South Senatorial District for all political positions. This is to ensure fairness, equity, and unity across Idoma land.

3. The Meeting emphasized the need to sensitize the electorate against voter apathy, and to encourage massive turnout during elections, driven by collectively negotiated interests of the Idoma people.

4. The Idoma Nation must formulate a comprehensive development plan which must be adopted as part of the agenda for all political candidates seeking the support of the people.

5. Such a development plan must be reviewed annually after elections to ensure strict adherence and accountability.

6. A unified effort is required to combat cultism and crime in Benue South, particularly among the youth.

7. Massive voter registration must be prioritized through continuous sensitization and civic education.

8. The BRM Youth Wing, together with the Ochetoha K’Idoma Youth Wing and other youth groups, should be empowered to serve as agents of change across polling units and wards in Benue South. Their responsibilities shall include:

Mobilization for voter registration.

Advocacy to combat voter apathy.

Monitoring performance and development initiatives of elected officials.

Gathering and reporting security-related information.

Establishing community-based security watch groups.

9. A strong synergy must be established between civil society organisations, pressure groups, political leaders, and traditional institutions to facilitate sustainable socio-economic and political development in Idoma land.

10. All future political engagements of the Idoma Nation must be based on negotiation that aligns with the collective interest of the people.

11. The BRM is mandated to continue to advocate for and defend the interests of the Idoma Nation at all levels.

12. The BRM is further directed to facilitate political unity and finalize a unified political roadmap for Benue South ahead of the 2027 general elections.

13. A comprehensive database of youths and women across Idoma land should be developed to enable planning and implementation of sustainable skill acquisition programmes.

14. A renewed effort must be made to rehabilitate schools and health facilities, and to promote profitable agricultural practices in the region.

15. The Idoma Nation must demand compensation and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitments from individuals and companies involved in mining activities in Benue South.

16. The revered stool of Agabaidu – the Och’Idoma and Idoma Traditional Council – must be upheld with utmost respect. However, Agabaidu is urged to maintain open engagement with his subjects, in line with Idoma customs and traditions.

Signed:

1. Dr. Mathias Oyigeya – Chairman

2. Prof. Edwin Iduh – Member

3. Hon. Eche Ijiga – Secretary
