The SDGs Community Development Service (CDS) group participated in the DreamRise Fest Outreach program organized in collaboration with the Lola Carter Foundation at Community High School, Ota Efun, Osun State. The program, themed Young CEO and Career Discovery Day, was aimed at inspiring leadership, career development, entrepreneurship, and personal growth among students.

The outreach was facilitated by Mr. Dami, with guest speakers Mr. Godspower Akatugba and Engr. David Basil Chukwubuikem. Mr. Godspower Akatugba educated the students on entrepreneurship, identifying societal problems, and creating solutions through skill development and innovation. Engr. David Basil Chukwubuikem spoke on goal setting, discipline, and the importance of achieving both short-term and long-term goals.

Students were later divided into groups based on their career interests. The entrepreneurial group consisted of students interested in vocational and skilled professions, while the professional group consisted of students aspiring to careers such as medicine, law, engineering, and nursing. Each group received guidance on career paths, subject focus, and the importance of building a strong foundation for future success.

The program concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session where students asked questions relating to their careers and ambitions. The outreach was impactful, educative, and engaging, highlighting the importance of mentorship, leadership, entrepreneurship, and career guidance for young people.

Report on Scholarship Presentation at St. Mark Commercial High School, Kola Balogun.

We are pleased to report the successful fulfillment of our promise to support students of St. Mark Commercial High School through the provision of scholarships.

During our recent visit to the school, a total of 12 students were selected as beneficiaries of this initiative.
Out of these, 11 students received scholarships to cover their school fees, while 1 student was supported with a brand-new school uniform.

The event was marked by gratitude and heartfelt appreciation from both the students and the school authorities.
It was a meaningful moment for us as a group, as we witnessed firsthand the impact of this support on the students’ confidence and hope for continued education.

This gesture reflects our commitment to empowering young minds and ensuring that financial challenges do not hinder their academic journey.

We remain encouraged to do more and reach even more students in the future.

The scholarship presentation was a fulfilling experience, reinforcing our dedication to making a positive difference in the lives of students and contributing to their educational growth.

FOMWAN orphanage home visitation

Today, we the SDG CDS Group successfully carried out a sensitization outreach at FOMWAN Orphanage Home.

It was a meaningful and impactful experience as we interacted with the children, shared knowledge in line with the SDG Goals, and inspired young minds toward a brighter future.

We also donated food items, had fun with the children, and entertained them, creating beautiful moments filled with joy and laughter.

Together, we continue to promote awareness, impact lives, and build a better community.

Discussion on health and sensitization; talk on “Better Me Model”

The SDGs CDS meeting held on April 23, 2026, at Olorunda LG Secretariat focused on upcoming outreach programs, including visits to orphanages, school sensitization, and scholarship initiatives.

Members received insightful sessions from the Africa Peace Club and Better Me Initiative on self-development, inner peace, and personal growth. Key speakers emphasized self-awareness, confidence, and habit-building as tools for becoming better individuals.

Additionally, the Dream Rise Project by Lola Cater Foundation was introduced, encouraging corps members to embrace decent work and contribute to economic growth in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.

Today, we join millions of people around the world to celebrate World Earth Day a day set aside to remind us of our shared responsibility to protect and preserve the environment we all depend on.
It is not just a date on the calendar; it is a call to action, a moment of reflection, and a renewed commitment to sustainable living.

The Earth is our home. It provides us with the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the food we eat.
Yet, it is increasingly under threat from pollution, deforestation, climate change, and unsustainable human activities.
World Earth Day reminds us that the health of our planet is directly tied to our own well-being and future.

As members of the SDG CDS Group, this day holds even greater significance for us. Our mission aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 13 (Climate Action), Goal 15 (Life on Land), and Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation).
This means we are not just observers we are active participants in building a more sustainable world.

So what does this mean for us in practical terms?

It means taking responsibility in our daily lives, reducing waste, avoiding single use plastics, conserving water, and promoting cleanliness in our communities.
It means educating others, raising awareness, and leading by example.
It means initiating and participating in community projects such as tree planting, environmental sanitation, and advocacy campaigns.

More importantly, it means understanding that small actions, when multiplied by many people, can create a powerful impact.

Let us use this opportunity to recommit ourselves to the cause. Let us be ambassadors of environmental sustainability in our homes, schools, workplaces, and communities.
Let us inspire change, not just through words, but through consistent and meaningful actions.

The Olorunda SDGS CDS group celebrated International Women's Day with a Sensitisation Program on Gender Equality at St Mark Commercial High School, Oshogbo. The event, aligned with SDGs goal 5, aimed to promote equal access to opportunities and combat gender-based discrimination.

64 corp members and 300 students attended, with President Mr. Oyetoso Olaoluwa emphasizing overcoming self-imposed gender limitations. SDGS Advocate Mr. Olaleye Oladamilola distinguished between s*x and gender, discussing gender-based violence.

A Q&A session followed, with gifts for outstanding answers. Some students received scholarships, and the group pledged support for a student in need. The event ended with affirmations and gift distributions.

The program successfully educated and encouraged attendees to support each other, recognizing everyone's value and equality. The SDG CDS Group remains committed to promoting awareness on SDGs, with the motto "SDG Everyone, Everywhere!" The event was a testament to the group's dedication to creating a more equitable society.
