The Olorunda SDGS CDS group celebrated International Women's Day with a Sensitisation Program on Gender Equality at St Mark Commercial High School, Oshogbo. The event, aligned with SDGs goal 5, aimed to promote equal access to opportunities and combat gender-based discrimination.

64 corp members and 300 students attended, with President Mr. Oyetoso Olaoluwa emphasizing overcoming self-imposed gender limitations. SDGS Advocate Mr. Olaleye Oladamilola distinguished between s*x and gender, discussing gender-based violence.

A Q&A session followed, with gifts for outstanding answers. Some students received scholarships, and the group pledged support for a student in need. The event ended with affirmations and gift distributions.

The program successfully educated and encouraged attendees to support each other, recognizing everyone's value and equality. The SDG CDS Group remains committed to promoting awareness on SDGs, with the motto "SDG Everyone, Everywhere!" The event was a testament to the group's dedication to creating a more equitable society.

Today, everyone of us the SDG’s took the community by storm! We didn’t just talk about the Sustainable Development Goals, we got our hands dirty. By showing those local farmers the secret to a tomato harvest that actually pays the bills, we did that!

Today wasn’t just a CDS gathering, it was a movement. If you weren’t there, you missed out on the impact, and the pure "knowledge" we all Witnessed.

We visited the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) to drive progress on UN Sustainable Development Goals.

This partnership supports goals 1 (No poverty), 2 (Zero hunger), and 8 (Decent work and Economic growth).

We secured high-yield tomato seeds (UC82B variety) perfect for community and commercial farming.

🌟 On Jan 22, 2026, the SDGs CDS Olorunda local government Osogbo NYSC meeting welcomed Osun State’s SDGs facilitator, Mr. Damilola, who urged members to make the most of their service year and harness CDS opportunities. He reminded them that the SDGs group—once the Millennium Development Goals—exists to shape leaders and speakers by understanding, practicing, and teaching sustainable development. Starting with Goal 1: No Poverty, he defined poverty as a mindset before a reality, stressing financial intelligence and the need to shift wrong perceptions. He shared personal stories, calling the youths to restore and elevate the CDS template for others.
