On Wednesday, 16th July 2025, the Rotary E-Club of Greater Nigeria, District 9126, executed a vital Disease Prevention and Treatment project at Eko-Ende, Osun State, Nigeria. The project focused on Menstrual Hygiene Awareness for Senior Secondary School students of Eko-Ende High School, as part of the club’s commitment to improving health education and empowering young girls.
The session was facilitated by Rtn Tolu Fagbo, a healthcare professional with expertise in adolescent health and hygiene. During the interactive lecture, students were educated on key topics such as the menstrual cycle, proper sanitary practices, debunking common myths, and the importance of personal hygiene in preventing infections. The session also created a safe space for the girls to ask questions and receive accurate information.
To make a lasting impact, the Rotary E-Club of Greater Nigeria donated reusable sanitary pads to all the female students in attendance. These eco-friendly and cost-effective pads not only promote sustainable menstrual health practices but also help reduce school absenteeism often caused by lack of access to menstrual products.
The school’s staff and students expressed deep appreciation for the initiative, highlighting its relevance and positive impact on the well-being and confidence of the students. The project aligns with Rotary’s focus area of Disease Prevention and Treatment, and demonstrates the club’s ongoing dedication to meeting the needs of underserved communities.
