VISITATION AND SUPPORT BY HON. BAMIDELE SALAM

Following the damage caused by the recent heavy rainfall to the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Osun State Branch Office, a member of the House of Representatives representing Ede South, Ede North, Egbedore Federal and Ejigbo Constituency, Hon.Bamidele Salam paid a visit to the affected office.

During his visit, he conducted an on-site assessment of the extent of the damage and expressed deep sympathy with the Nigerian Red Cross Society over the unfortunate incident.
He acknowledged the vital humanitarian role of the organization and commended its unwavering commitment to serving vulnerable communities, even in the face of challenges. Hon. Salam also conveyed his solidarity and support, assuring the organization that its efforts are recognized and valued.

In a remarkable show of generosity, he donated the sum of One Million Naira (₦1,000,000) towards the full renovation of the damaged office, demonstrating his continued commitment to humanitarian service.

It is noteworthy that Hon. Bamidele Salam has been an honorary member of the Nigerian Red Cross Society for many years, consistently supporting its mission and activities.

*Red Cross Volunteers Show Resilience Amidst Adversity in Osun State*

Despite the significant damage to the branch office caused by the recent rainstorm in Osogbo, Osun State, members of our emergency response team remained steadfast in their commitment to humanity.

Undeterred by the destruction, the team swiftly mobilized and went out into the affected areas to provide lifesaving first aid services to victims of accidents triggered by the heavy rainfall and strong winds.

This act of courage and selflessness highlights the unwavering dedication of the Red Cross to its fundamental principles and objectives—putting humanity first, even in the face of personal and organizational challenges.

HEAVY RAINFALL DAMAGES NIGERIAN RED CROSS OFFICE IN OSUN STATE

The Nigerian Red Cross Society, Osun State Branch, has reported significant damage to its office following a heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds in Osogbo, Osun State.

The incident, which occurred yesterday, resulted in the removal of parts of the building’s roofing sheets and severe damage to the ceiling. This has led to leakages, allowing rainwater to enter the office and affect its operations.

The extent of the damage has raised concerns about the safety of the facility and the need for urgent repairs to restore normal activities.

The Nigerian Red Cross remains committed to serving the community despite this setback and is calling for support to address the damages as quickly as possible.

*World Clean Up Day; Red Cross Osun Youth Wing Embark on Environmental Sanitation at Ilesa Correctional Centre*

In commemoration of World Clean-Up Day, the Nigerian Red Cross Society Osun State Branch together with the Southwest Zonal Youth Wing carried out an Environmental Sanitation exercise at the Nigerian Correctional Centre, Ilesha Osun State.

The project aimed to protect public health, promote Hygiene and a Healthy environment. The team also donated some hygiene materials to the correctional Centre.

The Red Cross is committed to Providing assistance and support to individuals affected by disasters, conflicts, and other crises.
