**MORAL MONDAY**: THE COLLECTIVE FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION 🇳🇬

Corruption remains one of the major cancerous threats to Nigeria’s economic development, good governance and social progress. Until corruption is addressed sincerely and holistically, our efforts to build a prosperous and equitable society will continue to face serious challenges.

The fight against corruption must not be left solely in the hands of anti-graft agencies and security forces. It is a collective responsibility involving government officials, political leaders, businesses, professionals, religious and traditional leaders, parents, youths and every responsible citizen.

This is why Distinct Advocacy For Youth Empowerment and Healthier Society (DAYEHS) continues to intensify its advocacy for integrity, honesty, accountability, dignity of labour and responsible citizenship, while campaigning against corruption, crime and other social vices.

We must teach our young people that success without integrity is not true success, and that building a better Nigeria requires all of us to do the right thing, even when nobody is watching.

Let us support the work of our security and anti-corruption institutions while also taking personal responsibility for the Nigeria we desire.

DAYEHS STANDS WITH ABDUCTED CORP MEMBERS

Our thoughts and prayers are with the abducted prospective NYSC members and their families at this difficult time. We commend the security agencies for their efforts to locate the victims and pray for their safe and immediate return.

This unfortunate incident further reminds us of the urgent need to strengthen security, promote moral values, and tackle the root causes of crime and violence in our society.

RAISING RESPONSIBLE CHILDREN: A DUTY TO SOCIETY... DAYEHS

Children who are not properly trained and guided may eventually become wayward and engage in harmful behaviours. Parents should be concerned when children with no visible productive source of income suddenly shower them with expensive gifts, cars or money.

Accepting such gifts without asking questions may unintentionally encourage criminality and other vices. Parents have a responsibility to teach their children integrity, dignity of labour, honesty and accountability from an early age.

This is why Distinct Advocacy for Youth Empowerment and Healthier Society (DAYEHS) continues to promote moral education, integrity, responsible parenting, dignity of labour and a crime-free society. Building a better society begins with raising children with the right values.

MORAL VALUES: PREVENTING CRIME, PROTECTING THE FUTURE

The sentencing of a kidnapper to death by hanging by a special court in Edo State is a sobering reminder of the serious consequences of crime and criminality.

This is why Distinct Advocacy for Youth Empowerment and Healthier Society (DAYEHS) will continue to campaign for moral values, integrity, honesty, dignity of labour and responsible citizenship, while speaking against kidnapping, drug abuse, fraud, violence and other vices threatening our society.

Our goal is not only to condemn crime, but to prevent young people from being lured into criminal activities that can destroy lives, families and futures and ultimately lead to severe punishment under the law.

DAYEHS believes that prevention begins with proper moral education at home, in schools and across communities. Let us raise a generation that values integrity over quick wealth and lawful living over crime.

DAYEHS VOICES ON THE STREET: THE RISING COST OF TRANSPORTATION

In today’s edition of DAYEHS Voices on the Street, citizens shared their concerns over the rising cost of fuel and the resulting increase in transportation fares.

Commuters and Okada riders who spoke with DAYEHS appealed to the government and all relevant stakeholders to urgently find lasting solutions to the rising cost of transportation, which is placing additional pressure on the daily lives of ordinary Nigerians.

At DAYEHS, we believe that the voices of citizens matter. Through advocacy and community engagement, we will continue to listen to the people, highlight issues affecting their wellbeing, and promote constructive solutions towards building a better society.

**DAYEHS IMPACT**

RESTORING HOPE • PRESERVING A FUTURE

Over four years ago, Ajeigbe Marvellous, a promising young boy, was forced to discontinue his education after his father suffered a serious accident that left him unable to work. With the family already struggling to cope with the situation, his mother was overwhelmed with caring for her husband and providing for the family.

But his educational journey did not end there.

Moved by his circumstances, Distinct Advocacy for Youth Empowerment & Healthier Society (DAYEHS) intervened through its Scholarship Programme, supporting Marvellous' education up to JSS 3 at Berrachai Jubilee School, Otaefun.

On 14 September 2026, to the glory of God, another milestone was achieved. Marvellous was enrolled into SS1 at Kings Success School, and his tuition fee was paid by DAYEHS.

This is more than the payment of a school fee. It is an investment in a life, a dream and the future of our society.

At DAYEHS, we believe that poverty should never be allowed to destroy a child's potential or determine the future of a promising young person.

Our humanitarian interventions are driven by a simple conviction: when we restore hope to one vulnerable person, we contribute to building a better society. This aligns with DAYEHS' broader commitment to education, empowerment, humanitarian assistance, integrity and positive social change.

OUR APPEAL

There are many more children and vulnerable families facing circumstances beyond their control. Government cannot do everything. Individuals, philanthropists, schools, corporate bodies, NGOs, community leaders and responsible citizens all have a role to play.
