HFDI Takes Voter Education Campaign to Otan-Ile Community Ahead of Osun Governorship Election

As part of ongoing efforts to promote informed and peaceful electoral participation, Hope for Family Development Initiative (HFDI) carried out a community sensitization campaign in Otan-Ile Community, Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State. The outreach targeted traders, transport workers, artisans, business owners, and other community members at strategic locations, including the main market and motor park.
During the engagement, HFDI educated residents on the importance of possessing a valid Permanent Voter's Card (PVC), understanding the voting process, identifying polling units, and participating peacefully in the forthcoming election. The team also emphasized the need to reject vote buying and selling, reminding citizens that their votes are powerful tools for shaping good governance.

Community members actively participated in the sensitization sessions, raising questions and expressing concerns about the collection of voter cards and security on election day. HFDI reassured residents that relevant authorities are working to ensure a peaceful and credible electoral process and encouraged everyone to come out and vote responsibly.

The outreach recorded a positive response, with many residents expressing appreciation for the information shared and a renewed commitment to participate in the electoral process. HFDI remains committed to promoting civic awareness and strengthening democratic participation across communities in Osun State.

🗳️ Promoting Inclusive Participation in the Democratic Process

Hope for Family Development Initiative (HFDI) participated in a stakeholder engagement focused on encouraging greater participation of young women in the electoral process ahead of the Osun state 2026 governorship election.

The engagement emphasized the importance of civic responsibility, peaceful participation, and access to credible electoral information. Discussions also encouraged young women to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), make informed voting decisions, reject misinformation, and actively contribute to strengthening democratic governance.

The session further inspired young women to embrace leadership opportunities, build confidence, and remain actively engaged in governance beyond the election period by promoting accountability and inclusive decision-making.

HFDI remains committed to advancing democratic governance, active citizenship, youth engagement, and women's empowerment through initiatives that promote informed participation and inclusive leadership.

Advocacy Visit to Olode Palace, Ife South LGA, Osun State

As part of our stakeholder engagement activities ahead of the implementation of our child labour prevention project, Hope for Family Development Initiative (HFDI) paid an advocacy visit to Olode Palace in IFE South LGA, Osun State.

During the visit, we had the honour of meeting with His Royal Highness, Oba Yekini Omisore, where we formally introduced our organization and shared the objectives of the upcoming project aimed at preventing and addressing child labour within the community.

His Royal Highness warmly welcomed the initiative and commended HFDI for its commitment to protecting the rights and well-being of children. He further assured us of the palace's full support and collaboration towards the successful implementation of the project.

We sincerely appreciate His Royal Highness for the warm reception and look forward to working together with traditional institutions and other stakeholders to create safer, healthier, and more protective communities for every child.
