A Glorious Birthday Tribute to Chief Benjamin Olomidegun

Today, we joyfully celebrate the life of a rare gem, a distinguished son of Ilaje land, a compassionate philanthropist, and a business mogul of repute, Chief Benjamin Olomidegun.

Chief Olomidegun’s life and legacy are deeply woven into the fabric of Ilaje Nation. Through his vision, generosity, and unwavering commitment to humanity, he has redefined leadership and service to the people. His worthy nomination by stakeholders as the National Chairman of Ilaje Nation is not a mere title, but a testimony to his years of sacrifice, his broad mindedness, and his tireless efforts to uplift Ilaje land.

Indeed, Ilaje Nation as we know it today is a product of his courageous idea and commitment to nation building. It was Chief Olomidegun who, with uncommon foresight, sponsored the historic Ilaje National Conference, a monumental gathering that brought together our Traditional Rulers, political leaders, women groups, and the youth under one umbrella of unity. That conference became the birthing ground of a stronger Ilaje identity, a united voice, and a renewed sense of purpose for our people.

Beyond politics and leadership, Chief Olomidegun has distinguished himself as a friend of the poor and the masses, a man whose generosity knows no tribe, status, or boundary. I wish to sincerely thank the Asiwaju of Ilaje Nation, the Board of Trustees, the State Executive Council nominees, the Governing Council, members of the National Executive Council, and indeed all stakeholders of Ilaje Nation across the globe for their steadfast dedication to justice, unity, and the promotion of our common identity. Your sacrifices and loyalty remain the strength upon which this vision is built.

Ilaje Nation has nothing to fear about the future, for our path is clear and our intention is genuine even now as a team. Ilaje Nation Constitutes National Executive Council

The Ilaje Nation, a foremost Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) committed to the genuine representation and advancement of the Ilaje people, has formally constituted its National Executive Council (NEC), with His Excellency, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, Executive Governor of Ondo State, serving as the Asiwaju of Ilaje Nation.

In an official composition document with REF: INA/NEC/NOM/08-2025, signed by Chief Araba Tony Ebietomiye (on behalf of the Board of Trustees Chairman) and Prince Emorioloye Owolemi (on behalf of the Board of Trustees Publicity), the position of Asiwaju of Ilaje Nation was clarified in accordance with both traditional and constitutional arrangements. The position is reserved for any distinguished son or daughter of Ilaje who holds the highest political or administrative office in the state or across the country.

By this virtue, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, as the highest-ranking Ilaje son in public office, automatically assumes the role of Asiwaju of Ilaje Nation, thereby becoming the overall leader of Ilaje people and a symbol of unity and progress.

The historic composition also appoints Chief Benjamin Olomidegun, billionaire marine business mogul and philanthropist, as the National Chairman of Ilaje Nation. Chief Olomidegun’s proven track record of community development, his commitment to security and infrastructural growth, and his passion for grassroots empowerment position him as a driving force for Ilaje Nation’s transformation. His leadership is expected to usher in a new era of purposeful service, transparency, and progress.

The leadership of Ilaje Nation (Ilaje United Organization) is pleased to announce the formal approval of the Ilaje Nation Lagos State Chapter Executive Council, with Ambassador Mogbojuri Taiwo Damilare appointed as Chairman.

Ambassador Mogbojuri brings to this position a wealth of experience as Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Lagos World Trade and Investment Authority, where he has consistently championed the promotion of Nigeria-made goods, investment partnerships, and economic development initiatives. His strategic leadership and distinguished services across Nigeria make him well-positioned to diligently represent and project the image of Ilaje Nation in Lagos State.
