DHDEI Engages 241 Beneficiaries, Announces Second Edition of 2026 Ilaje Youth Empowerment Programme

The Dakiz Human Development and Empowerment Initiative (DHDEI) today held an interactive meeting with the 241 beneficiaries of its ongoing 2026 Ilaje Youth Empowerment Programme at Trinity Cathedral, Ojoade Quarters, Weke Street, Kurugbene, Igbokoda.

The meeting focused on evaluating the progress of beneficiaries across various vocational training centres, obtaining firsthand feedback on their learning experiences, and addressing pressing challenges encountered since their allocation to different skill acquisition centres. Beneficiaries were also given the opportunity to share recommendations aimed at improving the programme and enhancing its overall impact.

Speaking during the meeting, DHDEI Founder and Executive Director, Akingbade Toluwa-Jolomi, commended the participants for their commitment to learning and urged them to remain dedicated to completing their training. He emphasized that skill acquisition remains one of the most sustainable pathways to economic empowerment, self reliance, and community development.

As part of the organization's commitment to expanding opportunities for young people, DHDEI officially declared open the Second Edition of the 2026 Ilaje Youth Empowerment Programme. Registration is scheduled to commence on 20th July 2026, while the screening exercise will take place on 1st August 2026. Interested youths across Ilaje Local Government Area are encouraged to take advantage of the initiative, which offers free access to vocational training through the organization's network of partners.

In preparation for the highly anticipated Youth Empowerment Symposium slated for 8th August 2026, beneficiaries undergoing training in Barbing, Hair Installation, Make Up, and Hairdressing were assigned a special community service task. They will provide free haircuts, hair installation, make up services, and hairdressing to members of the public during the event, demonstrating the practical skills they have acquired while giving back to the community that supports their growth.

The meeting ended with renewed enthusiasm among beneficiaries, who reaffirmed their commitment to completing their training and becoming productive contributors to the development of Ilaje and beyond. DHDEI reiterated its resolve to continue creating opportunities that equip youths with practical skills, reduce unemployment, and promote sustainable livelihoods.

DHDEI DELEGATION VISITS IGBOKODA DPO, SEEKS STRONGER PARTNERSHIP FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

The Dakiz Human Development and Empowerment Initiative (DHDEI), led by its visionary, Akingbade Toluwa-Jolomi, on Friday paid a courtesy visit to the Divisional Police Officer of Igbokoda Division, DSP Idowu Oluwaseun Emmanuel, at the Police Headquarters in Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The delegation comprised DHDEI committee members, partners, and ambassadors, including Mr. Feyijimi Adesoji, Reverend Akintewe Adewale, Miss Ruth Macurlay, Mrs. Elizabeth Ebijimi, Mrs. Aregbesola Authentic Make Up, and Mr. Ayenuro Idowu. The visit was aimed at familiarizing the new DPO with the activities, vision, and impact of the organization within Ilaje communities.

Speaking during the meeting, Akingbade Toluwa-Jolomi highlighted the role of DHDEI in promoting youth development and reducing social vices through productive engagement. He explained that the organization provides free vocational training opportunities for young people, thereby equipping them with practical skills for self reliance and economic empowerment.

He further noted that in April 2026, DHDEI successfully allocated 241 youths in Igbokoda to various vocational skill acquisition centres. According to him, the initiative is helping to redirect the energy of young people toward productive ventures and away from criminal activities. He emphasized that an engaged youth population contributes significantly to peace, security, and community development.

In his response, the DPO commended the organization for its remarkable contributions to youth empowerment and community development. He described the initiative as a valuable partner in the collective effort to reduce crime and promote social stability, assuring the delegation of his support and cooperation whenever necessary.

The delegation also used the opportunity to formally invite the DPO to serve as a panelist at the forthcoming DHDEI Youth Empowerment Symposium scheduled for Saturday, 8 August 2026. The symposium is expected to bring together stakeholders from various sectors to discuss youth development, entrepreneurship, security, and sustainable community advancement while celebrating the achievements of the organization's empowerment programmes in Ilaje.

DHDEI Celebrates New Ambassador, Ikuemehilo Segun, Appreciates JJ Home of Fashion for Transformational Partnership

The Dakiz Human Development and Empowerment Initiative (DHDEI) has congratulated its new ambassador, Mr. Segun Ikuemehinlo, on the successful launch of his fashion brand, “Sir Roderick Royal Fashion Design,” following the completion of his vocational training in Fashion Design through the organization’s free skill acquisition programme. The colorful ceremony was well attended by families, friends, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate his inspiring achievement.

Speaking before and after the ceremony, the visionary of DHDEI, Akingbade Toluwa-Jolomi on behalf of the board, praised Segun’s determination and commitment to learning despite his visual challenges. He described Segun as a symbol of resilience and hope, noting that his success story proves that limitations can be overcome through determination, support, and opportunity.

Akingbade further emphasized that Segun acquired the vocational skill completely free of charge through DHDEI’s empowerment structure and was also supported with a brand new sewing machine during his training to encourage his growth and establishment in the fashion industry. He described the development as another major success recorded through the organization’s youth development initiatives.

DHDEI also appreciated JJ Home of Fashion Ilaje for the impactful partnership and commitment towards training beneficiaries under the organization’s programme. The organization commended the trainer’s dedication to raising skilled youths and contributing positively to community development through vocational training.

The emergence of “Sir Roderick Royal Fashion Design” represents another significant milestone in DHDEI’s vision of producing empowered youths capable of becoming self-reliant and employers of labour. The organization reaffirmed its commitment to expanding free skill acquisition opportunities across communities while promoting hope, productivity, and sustainable development among young people.

BREAKING NEWS: DHDEI Unveils Fourth Edition of Ore Youth Empowerment Programme in Odigbo Local Government

In continuation of its commitment towards youth development and free vocational training across Ondo State, Dakiz Human Development and Empowerment Initiative (DHDEI) has officially unveiled the Fourth Edition of the Ore Youth Empowerment Programme tagged “ORE YOUTH EMPOWERMENT 4.0” for residents along the Ore–Okitipupa/Mobil Express Road Axis in Odigbo Local Government Area.

The empowerment programme is designed to provide youths and interested residents with practical and marketable skills at no training fee, thereby promoting self reliance, productivity and economic growth within the community.

Available skills for the 2026 edition include:
Make Up, Tailoring (Male Dress), Hairdressing, Aluminum Fabrication, Furniture Making, Barbing, Tailoring (Female Dress), Frame Making, Computer Literacy, Cake Baking and Bag Making.

The organization also announced that anyone from the age of 15 years can apply for the programme, including secondary school students who intend to utilize their after school hours, weekends and public holidays to learn productive and income generating skills instead of remaining idle.

Interested participants are expected to register physically at:
50/50 Fashion Palace, Mobile Filling Station Bus Stop, Ore, Ondo State.

Registration for the programme will officially commence on Monday, 3rd August 2026 and close on Friday, 14th August 2026, while screening of applicants is scheduled to hold on Saturday, 15th August 2026 at Mega School Ore, alongside Total Filling Station.

Speaking on the programme, the leadership of DHDEI reaffirmed the organization’s passion for empowering youths through vocational education and practical skills capable of transforming lives and reducing unemployment in communities across Ondo State.

In continuation of its commitment towards youth development and community empowerment, Dakiz Human Development and Empowerment Initiative (DHDEI) has officially unveiled the Second Edition of its Free Skill Acquisition Programme in Ikoya, Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The empowerment programme, coordinated by DHDEI Community Coordinator, Ajibawo Seyi, is designed to equip youths and interested residents with practical and marketable skills capable of promoting self reliance and economic growth within the community.

VIDEO STORY: DHDEI Visits Ambassador’s Newly Established Beauty Firm in Ondo, Volunteer to Train Organization Beneficiaries

The leadership of Dakiz Human Development and Empowerment Initiative (DHDEI) has paid a special visitation to one of its ambassadors, Miss Afolabi Dorcas Abidemi, following the successful establishment of her hairdressing brand, Hair By Nicky, located at Palm Grove, Ondo City.

Miss Afolabi Dorcas Abidemi, a graduate of Adeyemi Federal University of Education, was trained in Hairdressing through the free empowerment initiative of DHDEI at Hair By Ricky. Her transition from trainee to business owner stands as another practical testimony of the organization’s commitment towards youth empowerment, skill acquisition, and self reliance.

The DHDEI delegation was led by Akingbade Toluwa-Jolomi, Visioneer of the organization, alongside Miss Ologun Gbemileke OreOfe, CEO of Togah Pixels and Coordinator of DHDEI AFUED Ondo Chapter, as well as Mr. Ayenuro Idowu, CEO of IDAN Visuals, who also serves as the official graphic artist of the organization. Interestingly, both delegates are also proud ambassadors and products of the DHDEI empowerment structure.

The newly established CEO warmly received the delegation in the presence of her clients and customers who were at the salon during the visitation. The atmosphere was filled with joy, excitement, and appreciation as the organization celebrated another success story birthed through its empowerment vision.

Speaking during the visit, Akingbade Toluwa-Jolomi offered prayers for the growth, sustainability, and expansion of the business, while encouraging the young entrepreneur to remain committed to excellence, professionalism, and impact within the beauty industry.

In another major development, Miss Afolabi Dorcas Abidemi officially joined the growing network of DHDEI volunteers and partners who are contributing towards youth empowerment through free vocational training. She has volunteered to train two beneficiaries under the forthcoming July Empowerment Programme of DHDEI in partnership with the National Association of Ondo State Students.

The organization described her decision as a commendable act of giving back to society and a true reflection of the DHDEI vision of raising empowered youths who will in turn empower others.
