DHDEI Takes Youth Empowerment Drive to Ore, the Economic Capital of Ondo State

In a strategic move to deepen grassroots impact and expand opportunities for young people, the Dakiz Human Development and Empowerment Initiative (DHDEI) has officially taken its empowerment program to Ore Town, widely regarded as the economic capital of Ondo State.

Earlier today, the Visioneer, Akingbade Toluwa-Jolomi, paid a working visit to Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area, where he held a crucial meeting with the local coordinating team. The engagement focused on planning and structuring the forthcoming ORE YOUTH EMPOWERMENT 2026, a project set to transform the economic and social landscape of the town.

A major highlight of the meeting was the unveiling of 12 carefully selected skill areas that will form the backbone of the empowerment program. These skills are designed to meet current market demands while equipping participants with practical, income-generating capabilities.

According to details from the meeting, the initiative will strategically cover two major economic corridors within Ore, namely the Jerry Sawmill Axis and the Mobil/Express Road Axis. These areas, known for their commercial vibrancy and high youth population, have been identified as critical zones for impactful intervention.

The project will be spearheaded by Miss Olaoba Kemisola, the Project Coordinator, alongside Miss Khadija Adeola, the Secretary of the DHDEI Ore Committee. Both young women bring not only leadership capacity but also inspiring personal stories, having benefited from DHDEI’s empowerment programs in the past.

Kemisola is a certified fashion designer, while Khadija is a trained makeup artist. Notably, both acquired their skills through DHDEI’s free training initiative, a model that continues to remove financial barriers for aspiring youths.

Speaking during the visit, Akingbade Toluwa-Jolomi emphasized that their emergence as leaders in this project reflects the true vision of the organization, which is to raise empowered individuals who, in turn, empower others.

The ORE YOUTH EMPOWERMENT 2026 project is expected to provide practical, marketable skills to participants, further strengthening local enterprise, reducing unemployment, and promoting sustainable community development.

With preparations now in motion, stakeholders and residents of Ore are optimistic that this intervention will mark a new chapter of growth, opportunity, and self-reliance for the youth population.

More updates to follow as the project unfolds.
