Today was about more than a training. It was about creating a space where women could learn, ask questions, share experiences, and better understand their rights.

We spent the day with Female Persons Who Use and Inject Drugs (FPWUIDs) during a paralegal training designed to strengthen legal awareness and improve access to justice.

From the pre-test that kicked off the session to the thoughtful conversations that followed, every question asked and every voice shared reminded us why this work matters.

When people know their rights, they are better equipped to protect themselves, seek support, and advocate for their communities.

Today, we mark Eid-el-Maulud, a day that commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). 🌙

It is also a moment to reflect on the values of compassion, kindness, humility, justice and care for others — values that remind us of the importance of how we treat the people around us, especially those who need understanding and support.

May this celebration bring peace to our homes, strengthen our communities, and inspire us to lead with greater compassion.

Sometimes dignity shouldn’t need an explanation.

You don’t have to understand someone’s life, identity, choices, or experience to treat them with respect and compassion.

Healthcare, support and basic human dignity should never depend on whether someone’s life makes sense to us.

Maybe that’s not an unpopular opinion after all. 💚

Maybe people who use drugs don’t need another lecture. Maybe they need someone willing to listen.

Harm reduction starts with meeting people where they are—not where we think they should be.

You don’t have to agree with someone’s choices to care about their health. You can listen without judgment, share accurate information, connect them to support, and help reduce preventable harm.

Because care shouldn’t be conditional on agreement. 💚

What if the biggest barrier to healthcare isn’t the distance, the cost, or even the availability of services?

What if it’s the fear of being judged?

Sometimes, people leave out important details, avoid asking questions, or choose not to seek care at all because they don’t feel safe enough to tell their full story.

Healthcare should be a space where people can be honest about what they’re experiencing and still be met with dignity, compassion, and respect.

Everyone deserves care without judgment. 💚
