Odofin Oke Community & Owode Egba Applaud Hon. Amb. Adekunle Ajayi Abdullateef Over Borehole Donation & Reconstruction of Obafemi Owode Health Authority Centre
_“Lati Iyana” Delivers 3rd Water Project in 2 Years, Partners LG for Solar-Powered Health Centre Upgrade_
The people of Odofin Oke Community, Orile-Imo in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State have expressed deep appreciation to Hon. Amb. Adekunle Ajayi Abdullateef, popularly known as _“Lati Iyana”_, Councillor representing Owode Ward 3 and Chairman of Adekunle Ajayi Empire, for his consistent commitment to grassroots development.
The commendation came on Thursday during the commissioning and inauguration of a newly drilled solar-powered borehole donated by Hon. Ajayi to Odofin Oke. Community leaders described the project as a timely intervention that will put an end to years of water scarcity, especially during the dry season. This is the third water project executed by Hon. Adekunle Ajayi within Obafemi Owode LGA in the last two years, in addition to several other community interventions.
Speaking at the inauguration, Hon. Amb. Adekunle Ajayi Abdullateef said the borehole was conceived to alleviate the suffering of residents who previously had to trek long distances in search of clean water. He noted that the facility would not only serve Odofin Oke but also benefit neighboring communities within the environs. He reaffirmed his commitment to executing more people-oriented projects across the local government.
He also used the opportunity to appeal to the Special Adviser on Works and Infrastructure to the Governor, Engr. Akeem Babatunde Adesina, who doubles as the Odofin of Orile-Imo, and to the Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode LGA, to urgently intervene on the poor condition of the road leading into the community.
Hon. Amb. Ogunsola Lanre Adesina, FCPA, Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, lauded Hon. Ajayi for remembering his people at the grassroots. He urged other youths and political office holders to emulate the councillor’s selfless service. The Chairman assured residents of peace and unity, and promised that grading of roads across all communities in Orile-Imo would commence immediately after the rains subside.
Engr. Akeem Babatunde Adesina, Special Adviser on Works and Infrastructure to Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, who commissioned the borehole, praised Hon. Ajayi’s consistency and prayed for more resources to enable him to do more. He assured community members that their complaint regarding the access road would be prioritized by the state government.
High Chief Wasiu Ayinde, the Baale of Odofin Oke, also expressed gratitude on behalf of the community, noting that the borehole has restored hope and dignity to the residents.
Later that same day, Hon. Adekunle Ajayi joined the Executive Chairman, Hon. Amb. Ogunsola Lanre Adesina, FCPA, to commission the reconstruction and installation of a solar power system at the Obafemi Owode Local Government Health Authority Centre, Isale-Oja, Owode-Egba. Hon. Ajayi explained that his role in the health centre project reflected the strong synergy between the legislative and executive arms of the council. According to him, he handled the reconstruction of the health centre and handed it over to the Chairman, which facilitated the immediate installation of the solar system.
The commissioning events were attended by Hon. Sobunkola Abiodun Opeyemi, Vice Chairman of Obafemi Owode LGA; Hon. Durodola Saidat, Councillor, Ajura Ward; Comrade Malik Soneye, APC Youth Leader, Obafemi Owode LGA; community leaders, residents, and other stakeholders.
These dual projects further reinforce Hon. Amb. Adekunle Ajayi Abdullateef’s reputation as a grassroots mobilizer and development-driven leader who continues to deliver tangible results for Owode Ward 3 and Obafemi Owode LGA at large.
